What is the address to cancel my ADT security alarm? I want to go with another company and am out of contract? I have an ADT security system and would like to cancel it and go with another company. I am not under contract with them anymore. Id like to send in a letter to ADT instead of calling over the phone, does anyone know the address I should send my letter to? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!! Do I have to have long distance phone service to have an ADT security system? I wanted to install the cheapested local phone service, but that one does not allow me to call out of state. Would this be a problem for ADT? I live in NY, but I know they have monitoring centers all over the country.

ADT security question and the fire department.. please someone answer? Ok here's the thing... I accidently hit the fire alarm button on my ADT security system. The fire department called and asked if they need to send the fire department out. I said no but they ended up calling my step dad and he said yes not knowing there was nothing wrong. I need to rewire an ADT security system on my door.? We just replaced the door today & need to re-hook up the alarm. There are 2 wires that connect to a magnet on the house side & the magnet connects to another magnet in the door. When I re-connect the 2 wires (which had to be cut to put in the new door) - it tells the alarm the door is shut when it is not connected to the door magnet. Any suggestions short of calling ADT?

Cancelling ADT security service ? I recently activated an existing ADT system into a house I moved into. ADT Security Systems? We recently had a breakin and decided to get a security system. $700 later and 6 hours to install 4 simple door alarms, I feel like we definitely aren't getting our $$$$ worth. ADT security system question? Hey, I have ADT security system. I was wondering if when you type in your code and then presss the STAY button i noticed it isn't a motion censor alarm, including it doesn't go off at the opening of doors etc like when you press the away button after your code. When you use the STAY button when does the alarm go off- when a window breaks or something like that? Don't bother answering unless your sure and are familiar with the feature and system or you will just end up causing one guy a lot of trouble for 2 pts.

How does one replace a door frame with a security system on it? I locked myself out of the house and kicked in the door. I cracked the door frame up doing this. I was totally shocked at how easy it was to break in the door. The door will still close and lock but it looks really bad I want to replace it, but I have the ADT security thingy on the top. I have an ADT security system with motion sensors...how to disable one room? I have an ADT security system (just with motion detectors, the little white rectangles) in my house and I recently got a new puppy. We usually set the system when we go out to keep the house safe. We plan on putting the dog in the kitchen when we go out. There is a little rectangular motion detector in the room that makes sure no one is in the kitchen. We have these detectors around the house, where all of the entrances are...so that if someone were to come in it would sense them. My question now is, would it be possible to disable just one of the sensors (in the kitchen) when we go out and leave the dog in? I would prefer to leave the sensor in place so that when everyone(including the dog) is out of the house that we can still set it. Could i just put some duct/electrical tape over the one detector? I plan on upgrading the system in a little bit but we just need a temporary solution. Thanks in advance

Honeywell / ADT Local security system? I recently got a Honeywell security system installed in my home. I didn't get the monitored service. I only have the local install which sounds an alarm if a window or door is opened when armed. Anyone know what the alarm sounds like (how loud)? How long does it sound for if tripped?
