In a four passenger car, should I install a child safety seat behind the driver or the passenger? My back seat doesn't allow me to install a child safety seat in the middle. Is it safer to install behind the driver's seat or the passenger's?
child safety door lock 1997 ford expedition? My passenger door keeps switching to the child safety lock. Every time the rear passenger door handle is used, the switch for the door moves to the safety lock position.
Is there a motorcycle safety belt or some other safety device used to connect a young child to the driver? My little girl cannot reach the footpegs (by 8-10 inches) and she is pestering me to take her for a ride ever since she got a helmet for her 5th birthday. I would love to, but safety comes first. I have asked a Michigan State Police Officer about laws govorning child passengers on motorcycles and he informed me that there is no age limit, and the only law he was familiar with was that for a passenger to ride on a motorcycle, the bike has to have 2 things - a rear seat and rear footpegs.
Are You Aware Of The New Child Car Seat Recalls?? http://www.hsrc.unc.edu/safety_info/child_passenger_safety/child_restraint_recalls_list.cfm http://www.cbc.ca/consumers/market/tips/carseats.html If not PLEASE check these sites out. Thanks, have a good day ;-) No Eddie Bauer is a recall to. I have a 5 year and I have grandchildren. So this hits close to home for me and just thought I would warn all others ;-)

Can you put a child safety seat in a 1993 Ford F150? I need to know if I can use a carseat for a 3 year old in a 1993 Ford F150 pick up truck. It only has one row of seating (drivers, middle, and passenger). I need to be able to carry a 3 year old in the car seat and a 6 year old .

'96 Ford Explorer Back Doors Won't Open From Inside (Not Child Safety Lock)? I previously asked this question in a different post along with 4 others, so after the other 4 were answered I went and marked it as "Answered." So the issue is, I was gifted with a 1996 V8 4 Door Ford Explorer. Along with some other issues, both of the back doors will not open from the inside. I have tried switching on and off the Child Safety Lock, but to no success. Both handles seem to have excessive play in them. Additonally, both locks work on the doors. When I press unlock/lock, they "click", just like the passenger and driver's side. Again, they both open fine from the outside. I appreciate all of you car guys and girls who devote their time to answer questions here on Yahoo! answers. Your patience and expertise is greatly appreciated.
2001 VW Bug Passenger's Side Window, can only be put down by the driver, but passenger can raise it? I am considering buying a 2001 VW beetle, it has only one problem, I can't seem to put the passenger side window down from the passenger's side. However, I can put it down from the driver's side, and both sides can put it up. Since the driver can put it both up and Down I don't think it's the motor... What could it be? A loose wire? A hidden child safety button?
Why do you drive an SUV? I know it's a free country and you can spend your money anyway you want. I want more detailed answers than that please. a recent study or insurance statistics by the Partners for Child Passenger Safety looked at accidents involving 4,000 children in newer SUV's and found the rates to be almost identical to conventional cars. They found that the extra weight provided enhanced safety (reducing injuries by a third) but the tendency to roll over completely offset this.
02 ford explorer passenger window won't work all of a sudden. The light just flickers? I just bought the truck, and it was working fine, up until the door ajar light is stuck on, and now the passenger window won't work, no noise, just the light flickers when you push the power window button. all the other windows work, and the child safety lock is NOT on. Is there some kind of electrical problem here???? I don't know...
child safety laws in ca? I discovered my ex was making my 6 year old ride sitting on the floor of their car because there was no passenger seat. I estimate this must have happened at least 30 times. After I found out I insisted they install a seat, which they did before the next visitation. I am considering calling CPS because of the repeated endangerment of my child, but what can they do now since it has been fixed? Is this criminal and if so what are the consequences?
Child Safety Car Seats for a Truck Question :)? We have a 2001 ford ranger with Jumper seats (Side Facing lap belt only) in the back. Then up front we have 3 seats (Passenger, Middle and Driver). The Passenger air bag CAN be easily turned off with the key. Now my question is if anyone knows if we can use the jumper seats? Is there a certain child car seat we need to buy or an attachment? Otherwise I know we can put then in a normal car seat in the Passenger side with the air bag off... But I wanted to know all my options before the baby is born :). We still have time since I am due in June... I just want to make sure we are prepared for our babies arrival. I always heard back seats are best...
Child safety in the car. Unreasonable parents.? I live in a big city so I see situations like this almost every day: kids jumping all over the car back seats, hanging between the driver and passenger seat, kneeling on the back seat looking through the back window, not that they don't even have appropriate seats in the car they also don't have the seat belts put on. Are some parents really that unreasonable? Is it worth injuring ( the best case scenario) your own child than take a few seconds to fasten the seat belts? Do you let your children behave like that in the car? Thanks everyone for sharing your opinions. I'd never let my children out of their seats. They are always strapped in. My 4 1/2 year old always checks if all the seatbelts are fastened :) He knows it's for our own safety.
child car restraint safety laws? I discovered my ex was making my 6 year old ride sitting on the floor of their car because there was no passenger seat. I estimate this must have happened at least 30 times. After I found out I insisted they install a seat, which they did before the next visitation. I am considering calling CPS because of the repeated endangerment of my child, but what can they do now since it has been fixed? Is this criminal and if so what are the consequences? I hope answer #1 is being sarcastic...
I was cited for no seat belt while operating a vehicle and i believe the fine is wrong. Can i fight this? I was cited for not wearing a seat belt while operating a motor vehicle in Texas. Chp 545 Sec 413 of the Texas Law states that: a) A person commits an offense if the person: (1) is at least 15 years of age (2) is riding in the front seat of a passenger vehicle while the vehicle is being operated; (3) is occupying a seat that is equipped with a safety belt; and (4) is not secured by a safety belt. (b) A person commits an offense if the person: (1) operates a passenger vehicle that is equipped with safety belts; and (2) allows a child who is younger than 17 years of age and who is not required to be secured in a child passenger safety seat system under Section 545.412(a) to ride in the vehicle without requiring the child to be secured by a safety belt, provided the child is occupying a seat that is equipped with a safety belt. (c) A passenger vehicle or a seat in a passenger vehicle is considered to be equipped with a safety belt if the vehicle is required under Section 547.601 to be equipped with safety belts. (d) An offense under Subsection (a) is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $25 or more than $50. An offense under Subsection (b) is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $200. I fall in to Subsection A as i was the only occupant of the vehicle and i did not have any unrestrained children in the vehicle. My fine is $135 but the law clearly states that for my charge the fine is not to exceed $50. Can i have this dismissed in court for wrongfully fined/accussed?
Why does everyone think this about infant car seats? that if you are using an infant car seat you are carrying the baby around in it? I mean when the baby is tiny of course you carry the actual seat in and out of places. It is so easy especially when baby is sleeping. I have read a lot of questions/answers about the newer infant seats that have higher weight limits. People tend to say something along the lines of "how would you carry a 30 pound baby around in the infant seat", or "can you imagine carrying a 35 baby in the infant seat?" I mean, just because the infant seat can come out of the base and be carried doesn't mean you have to. My baby used her infant seat for a long time. I stopped taking it out of the base and carrying her in it long before she reached the 30 pound weight limit. You can use an infant seat and leave it in the car just like a convertible. You do not have to take it out and carry the child in it. Just take the baby out and leave the seat in the vehicle. Right? So why do most people think you are using it as a carrier also? Sorry, I just had to ask, this bothers me :) I am a certified child passenger safety technician so I am all about keeping the baby rear facing for as long as possible.
Why won't my Range Rover passenger side door open from the inside? There is no child proof safety lock, it locks and unlocks automatically, and it opens from the inside. Why won't open from the inside? The interior door handle is completely unresponsive... can someone help?
What Wisconsin state statue deals with 3 year olds in a car seat? The statue reads, "When a vehicle is operated on a highway, a three year old passenger must be in an approved child safety restraint system"
92' Acura Legend window problems with my master power window switch? My master power window switch wouldn't bring down all 3 windows other than the drivers side window but i was missing the child safety switch. I some what fixed it by using foil and the back 2 windows work but my passenger window still doesn't work and i don't know whether the switch was fault by the drivers side or both switch was faulty or the motor was defective... Any advice would be greatly be appreciated.
Our car seat is not working well in our new suburban that has 2nd row bucket seats. Any suggestions? We have bucket seats in the middle. The car seat forces the driver/passenger to have to ride with their knees into the dash. Anybody else have this problem? What did you do? If your only advice is to tell us to suck it up, please don't answer. We understand that our child's safety comes first. Just wondering if anybody had any solutions. I was thinking about purchasing another seat. Does anybody have one that works well ina suburban?
how do you do this when you drive? What age are children required to use an approved child passenger seat? should you still use a safety belt even if you car has airbags? why? when driving a car with air bags, what is the safest position for you hands on the steering wheel? how should the head straint be adjusted?
Can my CA traffic ticket be dismissed if the officer cited the wrong person? I was cited for driving a vehicle with a minor child who was not in a proper car seat. The CA traffic violation cited: 27360 (a)(1) In the law for Child Passenger Restraints: Requirements says: 27360 (a) A parent or legal guardian, when present in a motor vehicle, as defined in Section 27315, may not permit his or her child or ward to be transported upon a highway in the motor vehicle without properly securing the child or ward in a rear seat in a child passenger restraint system meeting applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards, unless the child or ward is one of the following: (1) Six years of age or older. (2) Sixty pounds or more. However, as stated in paragraph (2) of Section 27360: This subdivision does not apply to a driver if the parent or legal guardian of the child is also present in the vehicle and is not the driver. The parent of the minor child was present in the vehicle and was not the driver, which then makes me innocent of that charge. Did I interpret the law correctly? Do I have a legal leg to stand on? Any feedback will be deeply appreciated.

What do you think of illegals refusing to give out information on 2 yo child who could have been kidnapped? PHOENIX -- A 2-year-old unclaimed child was found early Saturday in a van containing 12 illegal immigrants, Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies said. A Maricopa County sheriff's deputy noticed a white Chevy passenger van make an abrupt u-turn at 43rd and Broadway avenues and when they pulled the van over, they found inside 12 illegal immigrants inside. When they probed a little deeper, they also discovered a 2-year-old girl wedged in between some adults. "I'm gravely concerned at the possibility that this child could have been kidnapped in Mexico and is being transported for sale here in the United States," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. The four adult women and eight men have been arrested and are in the Fourth Avenue Jail. "When the sheriff's Human Smuggling Unit detectives interviewed the illegal immigrants, no one would claim the little girl or provide accurate information on how to locate her parents," said Deputy Lindsey Smith of Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Deputies hope that someone will come forward with information about the incident, and the identity of the child will be solved. This was the second time this week that police have come across illegal immigrants wedged into a passenger van. On Monday, Arizona Department of PUblic Safety officers arrested 21 illegal immigrants at 27th and Southern avenues after the van in which they were crammed tried to ram a DPS vehicle before colliding with another car. The accident caused the van to roll over with all 21 people still inside. All were arrested.http://www.kpho.com/news/17754075/detail.html How many advocates for illegals will still call Sheriff Joe Arpaio a racist ?
Is there a law/rule against children of a certain age in the passenger seat in GA? my little brother is 9yrs old and my mom lets him sit in the passenger seat of the car(no type of safety seat). I'm 13 and i'm claustrophobic, yet she make me sit in the back seat when my little brother wants to sit in the front seat. First of all, this isnt even fair! Second of all, my brother is rude and insolent, and acts like he'sMR.Bigshot because he says he can sit in the passenger seat. So i want to know if there is any rule in GA against children(preferably under 12yrs old) sitting in the front seat. I want to show my mom this if there is one, so that i can sit in the passenger seat until im old enough to drive.
why is it that if i am driving around with my child unsecured in her seat belt I can get FINED but...? the state of Louisiana, and many others, are allowed to transport LOADS of children in cavernous buses with no restraint system whatsoever? My child and I always buckle up, this is not the issue. But my child rides the bus, and I occasionally do to help the driver out. The buses are immense, there are NO seatbelts (except for the driver), no airbags, no padding on the hard steel backs of the seats, no padding on the steel inside walls of the bus, no safety features of any kind INSIDE the bus. My truck, on the other hand, has driver, passenger side airbags, cushioned seats and door panels, and of course, seat belts, a roll-over frame, impact resistant front and rear bumpers, etc. GONE are the days when buses rarely traveled above 35 mph. It is commonplace to see them on the interstate doing 65 and 70 mph, surrounded or tailgated by other travelers, even tractor trailer rigs. GONE are the days when buses were spotted from a distance, waved at and slowed down for by considerate drivers. What the he** is wrong with this picture, folks? There have been several horrible bus accidents in the last few years and too many children have died from this complacent acceptance on the part of parents, teachers and administrators. We don't smoke in our homes or restaurants or vehicles for fear of poisoning our children. We test our water, our garden soil, our lakes and rivers and keep the environment clean, right? We ticket the offenders who DO NOT protect their children with seat belts and baby seats in their vehicles, YET we condone through silence this outrageous oversight - negligent behavior - of our state leaders who don't FORCE the seatbelt on the bus issue. No, I didn't get a ticket. I rode the bus this morning, and on the highway headed north a tractor trailer rig passed us like we were sitting still, but the bus was doing 65 mph (the speed limit). The whole bus rocked like a carousel ride and I wondered again how many of the children would survive if we rolled over. Tossed about inside with multitudinous sharp objects and hard steel parts like so much salad. something is wrong with this. otha, I'm not sure what you mean..."just think of your child" I am thinking of my child, and all the others! boo and evil, you are SO right! i have actually fought this fight before. twice. both times i lost. here in la we allowed casinos to come in, supposedly because part of the profits would go to the schools. I haven't seen that so far, but when asked about public transport seatbelts (esp for school buses) my answer from the governor was "not enough money". Go figure. Wonder if they are going to have enough money to pay for all the lawsuits WHEN not "if" something happens. That kind of thing unfortunately always does. Then everyone starts screaming at everyone else because no one did anything! i just pray it isn't tragic. Good info, wend, thank you. Oh, I didn't mean to sound as tho I was comparing civilian vehicles and buses, I failed to make that point well, I meant that even tho POV's (private own vehicles) are safer, the fine for seatbelt violations is huge and they quote "kid safety". However, the buses are terrifyingly unsafe and they quote "not enough money". Just an example of how our own concerns are used against us (pay the fine) or disregarded as they wish (we have no money) in the great world of bore - a - cratic B.S.
Hi I need help traveling with my two year old child on the airplane? I have book three seats in economy class, for myself, my wife and my two year old daughter. I booked the third seat for my daughter hoping to use a car seat. But now I have been told by the airline that it is unsafe to use a car seat because all their new aircrafts passenger seats are installed with air bags. I have even enquired about using CARES ‘Child Aviation Restraint System’ instead. But the airline replied saying that because I am booked on Air bus A340 – 300 they will not allow any car seats or safety restraints with their new seats. The flight that I am book on with my wife and child is between Auckland and Hong Kong, which a 10 hour flight. My question now that I have booked the extra seat what can I do to ensure my child is comfortable sitting I a full sized seat with having a car seat or any other restraint?
Child Endangerement - 4 yrs old, 28 lb, no car seat, front paassenger seat , riding on someone else's lap. My ex and I have share custody. Everytime he picks him up he always put our son in a front passenger seat with no car seat. I asked him nicely recently to put our son in his car seat at all time. Last night he picked him up and put him on the lap of his new girlfriend! I was so mad. When I confronted him with child endangerement, he got mad and saying that I didn't put him in a car seat either when i drop him off from my apartment door to my club house which literally feet away and the speed limit is 10 miles/hr. Beside that, I ALWAYS put my son in his car seat in the back seat when I travel with him. How do I enforced this to my ex to make sure that he always put our son safety first? he picks up my son every night at my apartment complex's club house which is only feet away. I'm not being hyprocrite - i just thought it was different from driving without car seat for 50 feet than 10 miles++
Car seat in an Extended cab ranger? Concerns on safety? We are not preggo yet, but my husband has a Ford Ranger Pickup. It's one of those with the backseat that has the fold-down seats. Obviously we wouldn't be placing a car seat in the backseat, but I'm concerned about front seat placement. Has anyone had this issue before? I hate to ask him to sell it, unless it's unsafe for a child. I don't think it would be safe. It does have a passenger side air bag cut off switch though..what do you think?
My car door is stuck.? I recently bought a 1999 honda civic and the rear passenger door will not open from the inside and outside. I obviously can not switch the child safety because I would need the door open to do that. I want to know how to take off the door panel with the door closed.

Help me find a van with a bunch of random specifications? We currently have a Ford E350 (12-passenger "church bus"). This works well for us because we have a family of 7 including 4 young children. We like the extra seats because we can take friends, grandparents, cousins, etc. with us. We also use it to tow our 31 foot travel trailer. We have 3 major problems with it, though. These are in order of importance: (1) Safety issue #1: there are no headrests, and my children are just about grown out of their high-back booster seats. (2) Safety issue #2: no shoulder belts for 4 of the 12 seats (3) Issue #3: it is ugly! Does anyone known of a vehicle that will fit our family plus, that will tow a camper and has headrests and shoulder belts for all passengers? Thanks!
Thoughts on the Ford Fusion 2011? Hi I'm wondering if I should buy the new Ford Fusion and if anyone here owns this car, I have been looking at it online and like it very much, I currently have a Audi and I am looking to sell that to Audi or another place for around 10,000. What is the summary of this text? I don't speak in english very well so i would like a summary of this text TORONTO - Young drivers in Ontario bristled yesterday at a proposed law that would usher in some of the toughest restrictions in the country, including barring new motorists 19 and under from driving with more than one of their teenage friends at a time. While Premier Dalton McGuinty called the legislation a "modest restriction'' on the freedoms of young people and safe-driving advocates lauded the move, it raised the ire of many youth. Thousands of them took to Facebook to air their grievances online. Concerns about the environmental effects of no longer carpooling, and questions about just how designated drivers would get their friends home, abounded. At a downtown Toronto high school, Alex Popescu, 17, said the law, if passed, would mean he wouldn't be able to bring his friend and girlfriend to a party and thinks that's age discrimination. "I passed my test just like any other person,'' Popescu said. "I did good and I think I deserve to be able to drive with anybody I want.'' The bill, introduced in the Ontario legislature yesterday, included a zero blood-alcohol limit for drivers aged 21 and under and escalating sanctions for young drivers who speed, starting with a 30-day licence suspension. New Brunswick passed legislation with a zero tolerance for alcohol for drivers 21 and under earlier this year, while Manitoba and Nova Scotia have similar no alcohol rules for the first five years for all new drivers, regardless of age. Ontario's proposed legislation was praised by the provincial police, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Canadian Automobile Association and Tim Mulcahy, whose son and two young friends died in a crash this past summer after they had been drinking. The law would also see drivers between 16 and 19 would limited to having only one passenger 19 or under in the vehicle during their first year of driving. McGuinty conceded that could mean three 19-year-old adults could not go to a movie - or church - in the same car. The government said there would be special passenger rules for siblings. "Perhaps the most precious thing we have in society is our children, and that includes our older children,'' McGuinty said. "We owe it to our kids to take the kinds of measures that ensure that they will grow up safe and sound and secure, and if that means a modest restriction on their freedoms until they reach the age of 22, then as a dad, I'm more than prepared to do that.'' Studies show just one teenage passenger with a teen driver doubles the chances of an accident and that risk increases with the addition of every teenage passenger, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Peter Robinson, 18, who created a Facebook group about the legislation, said while he agrees with many parts of the legislation the passenger limits represent "the worst law ever made.'' "Sometimes I have to pick up two or three different teammates to go to a game,'' said Robinson, who plays on sports teams and relies on carpooling. "If I'm not able to do that we may not have the right amount of players to play.'' Passenger limits also raised concerns about designated drivers, but Transportation Minister Jim Bradley said there are several alternatives to having a young person as a designated driver. "I don't think that does discourage it,'' he said. "A lot of people will get someone who's just a bit older to be the designated driver.'' People needing a ride home can call a taxi, take public transit, call a friend or call their parents, Bradley added. It may not be realistic to expect a young person who has been drinking to call their parents instead of riding with friends, Robinson said. One posting on Facebook said the law would "encourage drunk driving!'' "We would need more cars which means more designated drivers. My friends already don't want this job!'' Some young people said that statistics on teen driving unfairly paints them all with the same brush. "They tend to blame teens a lot for the crashes,'' said Mason Kleps, 17. "There are some stupid kids out there, I'm not going to lie, but...not all kids are bad and we do need to drive.'' Some teens also raised environmental concerns about the impact of limiting the number of young people per car. Several online Facebook groups protesting the proposed law sprung up hours before the legislation was even tabled. "How does it make sense to try and teach us about saving gas by carpooling and buying hybrids and things such as that when it is illegal for teenagers to carpool if this passes?'' one person wrote. Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory said he likes the idea of new rules for younger drivers, but worries the restrictions on teenage passengers could be unworkable, especially in rural Ontario. "We want to protect public safety and have stricter conditions under which young people can drive cars,
I HAVE a GREAT IDEA PLEASE HELP? To Whom It May Concern: Ten years ago, l envisioned and then created the Z-V SYSTEM. I was pleased with myself at the time, because l had discovered that the Z-V SYSTEM could immensely contribute to the reduction of the number of people killed in traffic accidents- up to 80%. Back then l thought l had something that could at least reduce deaths of millions, or hundreds of millions of people throughout the world, something that other innovators and some engineers had before. THE Z-V SYSTEM IS THE SAVIOR OF US ALL. PEDESTRIANS: 1. When a vehicle with the installed Z-V SYSTEM hits a pedestrian, the pedestrian's chances of getting away with significantly lighter injuries will be higher-specifically, the vehicle will not bounce him off of it. 2. When a vehicle hits a tree, a concrete pole, a bridge, another vehicle or something else on the road – the vehicle will not stop momentarily. 3. The Z-V SYSTEM is POWERFUL, RELIABLE, And IMPRESSIVE. It prevents the vehicle from stopping, which was the case before. 4. Unfortunately for all of us, we are aware that the main cause and reason of deaths and severe injuries in car accidents is the momentary stopping of the vehicle. 5. The Z-V SYSTEM'S task is to absorb the impact to the maximum degree at any speed, and to maneuver the vehicle in free direction. 6. This SYSTEM also works before contact with another vehicle, a tree, a bridge etc. 7. It protects your fuel tank from catching on fire, regardless of whether the crash occurred in the front or the back. 8. The Z-V SYSTEM also includes the safest seat next to you, which can be installed anywhere you like. If necessary, these seats can be activated by the Driver, as well as the Passenger. 9. Ladies and Gentlemen – Vehicles installed with the Z-V SYSTEM do not stop. 10. The Z-V SYSTEM is of major value to all of us; do not be persuaded by the skeptics, these are certain people who refuse to give me the chance and support necessary to make the Z-V SYSTEM become reality and truly justify its purpose. 11. I believe the official car industry will accept and acknowledge Z-V SYSTEM as the safest innovation available for pedestrians, drivers, passengers and other participants of traffic. 12. The first crash test with the Z-V SYSTEM will show that we will no longer need to perform crash tests in the future. At least not in the traditional way they have been performed thus far. 13. The Z-V SYSTEM should be happily accepted without much consideration, and installed in all passenger vehicles. The necessity of this SYSTEM lies in the need to reduce mortality and injuries of people in traffic. PRECISE INDICATOR 400,000 DEAD IN THE U.S. ALONE IN THE PAST -10-YEARS The Necessity and purpose of the Z-V SYSTEM is to reduce the number of dead, heavily disabled, and material goods by 80% or more in the future. The Z-W SYSTEM protects the lives of our children, our parents, friends, and ourselves. Idea and benefit: The necessity suggests the idea exists, it is justified, and its acceptance has support. Last tests I had the chance to see in press and public media showed that the level of passengers' safety is high. Unfortunately, passenger protection is improving, but not to the extent that would be gained with Z-V SYSTEM. In the car Industry, improving driver and passenger safety is still top priority, meanwhile few people care about protecting pedestrians. In order to make the car industry and people in general accept the Z-V SYSTEM, I must present the facts simply, logically, and directly. The public has not failed me yet, because they know nothing of the Z-V SYSTEM. I cannot bypass the danger for our children's, grandchildren's and all other people's lives. It is the danger coming from the car. I am deeply convinced that tragedies can be avoided. You can also contribute to it by fighting for common sense in traffic relations. Your desire and greater motivation for the installation of the Z-V SYSTEM could be the main criterion of success. We should not let ourselves be led in the wrong direction, left at the mercy of obsolete safety systems. Take a look at the previous status and victims in traffic to this day and decide for yourselves how to live happier and safer lives, together we can work on making everyone in traffic safer. 1. The extraordinary number of over 400,000 DEAD in the U.S. alone over the past 10 years is what stimulated me. 2. Sadly, it is impossible to distinguish past achievements from new ideas made by individuals that are begging and waiting. 3. It seems to me that science in the car industry was stopped and decelerated. Those who contributed to previous achievements in development are very successfully keeping a distance and avoiding new discoveries for the car industry. 4. I believe the official car industry will accept and acknowledge the Z-V SYSTEM as the safest innovation available for greatly improved safety in traffic. Please can you let me know if you got this e-mail? Thank you Zvonko Peric Address: 4016 Burton Dr . Stow Oh 44224 Phone number: 330-689-0494
Stage 2 Question Private Pilot? with regard to safety belts, the pilot of a small airplane must ensure that all passengers... 1. are briefed on how to fasten and unfasten their safety belts and shoulder harnesses. 2. under the age of 2 are secured in FAA-approved child safety seats during the flight. 3. wear safety belts at all times, from the time the airplane first moves for the purpose of flight until it stops. I'm thinking it's 1? Thanks, I'm unsure.
Was the "One Child" Rule in China Necessary? With a population of almost a billion and a half people, as compared to the 300 million in the United States, China has a problem with overcrowding. In a recent train accident, with many people involved, the number of stranded passengers reportedly was more than the entire population of the United States. Despite the problem of overpopulation, China is moving ahead at a rapid pace and has become a major force in the world, partially due to the consumerism of the United States and the outsourcing of corporations. To stem the tide of overpopulation, China enforces a "one child" rule and, because most families want that one child to be male, there are many Chinese girls in orphanages and many who are reportedly aborted or killed. Is this necessary in a country where overpopulation threatens the safety of the public? Should other countries try to halt overpopulation before it reaches crisis stages?
What do I do next re: holiday complaint? In August I went on a gulet cruise in Turkey which was spoilt by a child being on board the boat. His mother started a relationship with the Captain of the boat, leaving the child to his own devices, which caused disruption to other passengers and raised serious health and safety issues. The Captain also left the boat with the child's mother on a number of occasions, and they spent a considerable amount of time in his cabin. This is my real concern, because his lack of attention was dangerous and caused all passengers problems. I have sent letters to the companies involved, but am dissatisfied with the lack of response - they are supposed to be ringing me back today. I now want a full, or at least substantial refund. I have not had to complain about a holiday before so I'm not sure what companies to contact with regard to making a claim. Thanks for any advice. Thanks to the three of you who have the sense to read beyond what I have written. For the two of you who've written, frankly ridiculous answers, I'll be very patient: The child shouldn't have been on the boat because he was under the age limit for the cruise. He caused damage to other people's belongings and hurt several people due to his uncontrolled behaviour. Eight other passengers have also complained. The Captain and the kid's mother being off the boat caused delays to the itinerary and other health and safety scares. The holiday was misrepresented in the brochure. Not one person on that boat enjoyed the holiday because of the trouble caused. I book Gulet cruises to get away from children - not to be forced into looking after other peoples because they can't be bothered. I've acted on the advice of those of you who actually talk sense and with all the other details I haven't included here I actually have a very strong case.
Best 7 passenger car? I am in the market for a car/suv/minivan/station wagon. I want to buy used and inexpensive. At the moment I have 2 children who are still in car seats; and more children may be in my future. So I want a car that has room for 7 (including car seats) and lots of cargo room for strollers. And of course safety is key. So any ideas/suggestions of a car (including the year model) that might fit my criteria?

Neither women nor children first. What are your thoughts on the Arctic-Vesta sinking? http://www.greatoceanliners.net/arctic.html Yesterday was the 153rd anniversary of the sinking of the SS Arctic. Trapped in fog, the Arctic was unable to avoid a small French liner, the Vesta, as its iron hull ripped the Arctic's wooden frame wide open. In the ensuing panic of the sinking amid gale-force winds, crew members and very few passengers seized lifeboats and made their escape. Not many made it to safety; approximately 300 of the 356 died. And, as most sources take care to note, no women and no children survived. I've seen the crewmen vilified before. Personally, I believe that sort of chaos makes it hard to keep a clear head, so I refuse to cast blame. But mostly this brings to light the issue of "women and children first." Should children be saved first in a life-threatening crisis? Should women? Both? Why or why not?
Help with Safety Scenarios ? Kay, i have to come up with 4 what if saftey scenarios & smart thinking . i've already done two . pretty much i have to do it with alot of detail and stuff that happends in every day life . for example of of the saftey scenarios was I was at the 7-11 and I saw a mom get into a car with a little girl. The mother put her seatbelt on but the little girl didn't. I said to myself, Hey, I am sure the little girl has been told to put the seat belt on many times but just didn't listen. Just as the mom was starting to drive away, she had to slam on the brake to keep from hitting another car that was pulling up to the 7-11. I saw the little girl's head fly but I don't think she hurt herself. What if the mom had been driving a fast speed down the freeway, and had to slam on the brake? The little girl would definitely have hurt herself in that situation. She could also have flown right out of the car, been seriously injured or even killed. The mom would never have forgiven herself. then i also have to add a smart thinking like ; The parent should not even start driving until the child has buckled up the seat belt. It is the driver's responsibility to make sure that passengers are safe. The parent might have to insist many times that the child buckles up; eventually the child would realize that they are not going anywhere until all seatbelts are done up. Buckling up would become a routine habit after a while and would not be a repeated issue for the parent driver. help help help, i cant come up with anymore :( !?!
Is our society more dangerous than it used to be ? I rode a city bus on October thirty -- first . Since it was halloween, trick -- or -- treating became a subject . My fellow passengers claimed the world has become too dangerous for kids to go trick -- or -- treating . I was born in 1981, and I was trick -- or -- treating during the 1963 -- 1974 time period . Back then, we had our safety rules for Halloween . Parents worried about apples, cookies, and brownies unless we knew where they came from . Children might be warned to stay away from "that house" . Most parents knew it was a good idea to escort their children when they went trick -- or -- treating . It probably wasn't "cool" to have your parents go with you . Is our world any more dangerous than it used to be ? We have kidnappers and child molesters, but we had kidnappers and child molesters back then . Whatever can happen now could have happened when I was a kid . People are the same, no matter whether its the 1960s or 2008 . Is our society more dangerous than it used to be or were my fellow passengers on the bus reading the signs wrong ? Who's right ?
safety tips for women? I know you have all had this before, but PLEASE, PLEASE read it again... Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or love one's life. Crucial Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips , forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in. 1 Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do! 2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM Toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives. 4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!) The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR , LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. a. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location. 5 A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage: A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor , and in the back seat B..) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door . Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. C..) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!) 7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably ! in a zig -zag pattern! 8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP ! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. ************* Here it is ******* 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby ---- This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America 's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well. Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safe than sorry. Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved one's life. ya my nana sent it to me, but i thnk all women could benefit from reading it, thats why i posted it here:) hopefully it can save somebody from getting hurt
Car seat safety? I drive a four door Ford Focus. I already have two children, ages 4 and 2, with one more on the way. I'm looking for guidance or advice on what to do when the new baby arrives. The back seat is only big enough for two car seats. By the time the new baby is born, my 4 year old will be 4 1/2. Can she safely sit in the front passenger seat of the Focus, with the appropriate car seat, so that my younger two can sit in the back seat? I know I should definitely disable the front passenger airbag. But is this safe? Getting a bigger vehicle would be tough financially. Any other advice would be appreciated. Wow, I didn't expect to be judged about having a third child, I was just asking about car seat safety. If it is imperitive that I get a bigger vehicle, I will. I said it would be a strain financially, not impossible. Relax people.
Dreaming about war and saving my children. what does this mean? I recently had a dream that there was a war going on. The Russians or Germans... not sure who they were anyway they had a ship and were about to land on england. I was looking for my husband and children but couldnt find them. There was an English ship taking passengers to safety, but i didnt leave land because i couldnt find my husband or children. I was crying in my sleep. what does this mean? Am i going mad??
You in the mood for suspense? The car had come to a stop. Ralph sat at the passenger‘s end. Pain shooting throughout his chest and entire right shoulder. The moment of confusion that usually follows a car crash was still checked in. There was nobody in the drivers seat and the two doors on the left side were opened. Next to the car, about 10 feet away. A man was crawling, sobbing as he went. Leaving a trail of blood along the dirt stemming from the drivers' side. The wind was picking up, exciting the dust and making it difficult to see. Ralph of course wasn’t aware of this. No, Ralph’s brain was, at this particular moment, attempting to assemble some sense of reality. In the distance, there was a rumbling. A low deep sound that carried itself like a prophet of doom. A war cry that was getting closer. Ralph was slowly fidgeting, like a child in a safety seat, unaware of how the sky above him was rapidly turning colors. A light lemonade pink swirling into a candy corn orange which was now churning into a bleeding purple. The stars and the now defunct military hologram satelites were visible at this hue but disappeared with the brighter colors. Ralph began to focus his eyes. This was at about the same time that he finally saw victor. Victor, who doubted everything from the start. He, who only went along with the plan because it was something to do to get out of the barracks. The same Victor who had lost whatever was left of his sanity as he drove the Pontiac trough the raving crowd as it was preparing to rip and devour Ralph and his son limb by limb. Ralph reached out his hand as a drunk would reach for the sky after falling down after a long night. Everything was broken up, everything was a dream of a dream. Ralph was still reaching out, his fingers wiggling at the end of his outstretched hand as if that would somehow add inches to it. Something began to form in Ralph’s throat. Perhaps it was a cry of forgiveness. Perhaps it was a curse of damnation. Maybe it was a simple Thank you. But what ever it was, it got lost, killed where it stood as the beat up Chevy truck, with the smashed in front end and the missing front grill slammed into Victor, exploding with a sickening thud. It carried him along like some insect on a windshield before he went under the wheels. The ancient relic, came to a screaming halt, filling the air with the putrid stench of burnt rubber. Whatever was manning it had recovered it’s basic motor skills and was regaining the ability to learn. Whatever it was it understood it had done it’s job. Ralph knew this because before blacking out he saw, in gripping horror, as the thing inside the truck turned slowly around and grinned. It's the introduction to a short story I'm writing. convoluted? wow, buddy. You sure are a smart fella. I have no idea what that means.
What do you do if someone doesn't have car seats for their children? My boss has 3 children aged 7, 5 and 3. He's just told me that none of them have car seats or booster seats and that his youngest usually sits in the front passenger seat. He thinks they are all tall enough. We are in the UK. I told him all children under 135cms (4' 5") or under 12 must have car seats or booster seats as it is the law. I am now concerned for his children's safety. We just had a discussion about it and he says a booster seat will not make any difference and I said it ensures the child is higher up so the seat belt crosses their body rather than their necks. I asked him why and he just keeps joking about it as though it is not important. I was trying to argue with him but he thinks it is funny. and no he doesn't switch the front airbag off when his 3 year old is in the front. It's not any of my business? I'm so pleased you are so caring and considerate too! What if they have a car crash, shall I just think, oh well, was their own fault? Random Hangman - I don't question my own parenting on here so do not have to worry about other people's opinions, however, I do not do anything illegal concerning my child. What he is doing is illegal. I am not trying to police him, I am trying to get him to understand that he is putting his children's lives in danger!!!! Hangman: Right, we'll agree to disagree and I won't enter into an argument with you as it's not worth it. You obviously have strong opinions about parenting that I will never agree with. I work in his house, his car is on the drive, he just went to pick his 3 year old up and there are no car seats in his car. He drives an Audi A4 convertible. I've just looked in his wife's BMW compact and she doesn't have any either. I've never really looked in them before, only because he actually said it. Thank you Sir Alan. I'm so upset by the fact that he doesn't think it's wrong. I know it's hard fitting 3 car seats in a car, but two of them could have boosters and it's only the little boy that needs a proper car seat.
Giving up your rights all in the name of safety ... Airline Nightmares Relived? Many of us, since 9/11, have agreed with the government stepping in to regulate airline passengers more stringently. We gave up many personal freedoms just to be able to feel safe, but are we? All of us have read some pretty horrible stories about Airlines (who are supposed to have regulations to keep us safe) using regulations and guidelines in such a manner as to hurt the general public. Some examples are: being held as "hostage" on planes that are still on the tarmack; taking items from suitcases never thought as harmful; delays which cost passengers money and force them to stay overnight at airport terminals; baggage that's lost for days, even weeks; throwing off little children for coughing too much; throwing off people from flights for minor disputes with airline staff; and the most recent case (on today's Yahoo News) of a New York lawyer suing for having his vacation ruined. Why are some parents so lazy that they don't bother making their children buckle up? I pulled up next to a car during lunch. In the car, there were two women and one little girl, maybe 5 or 6 years old. The backseat was empty. The little girl was sitting on the lap of the female passenger. Nobody had seatbelts on. The child's head was only inches away from the windshield. All it would have taken was for the driver to slam on the breaks, for any reason, and that little girl's head would have went into the windshield, not to mention if there was a serious accident. I just don't understand how a parent could be so selfish and lazy. How long does it take to have your kid in the backseat buckled up? Me and my wife have a 10 month old son. It is a pain in the butt to get him into his rear-facing car seat, especially in our extended cab Silverado. No matter how painful it can bet at times, I would NEVER, EVER, take him anywhere without him being as safe as possible. When he gets older and no longer needs a car seat, I just can't imagine myself ever getting to the point where I just let him ride up front on someones lap without a belt on. I see kids running around free in cars all the time, and it makes my blood boil. If I get the chance, i will say something to the adult. Its one thing for the adult to not buckle in, but don't put your kids safety and life in jeopardy just to save 10 seconds. What is wrong with these parents? Has anyone ever said anything to them? I just can't wrap my brain around how someone could do this to their children, I'm hoping for some insight. Thanks.
What do i call to report benefit fraud? Ok, as you read this, you may get the impression that i truly and deeply detest my father. Thing is, i do. Anyways, my father has done nothing but cause misery to my family, and it's about time he stopped. Him being the lazy, layabout piece of scum he is, cannot be bothered to get a job and instead lives off benefits. Not only that, my mother has to PAY him so that he comes down to pick up my little sister and brothers. Thats disgraceful in it's own sense, but meh. £10 every week, for a year, equals roughly £520, of money he should NOT be getting. Does anyone know where to contact about this? He makes me sick... Also, he drives dangerously. His fat slutty wife travels everywhere with him, as well as his 3 children. He has a car which only holds the driver and 3/4 passengers. When, and if, he comes to pick up his children, two of them have to SIT ON THE FLOOR! Highly dangerous, and my mother is not happy with it, but he threatens legal action if he cant see them. This is dangerous, and negligent, in it's own way - but he also is driving around witha faulty handbrake which he has no intentions of fixing. I am worried for the safety of my family and people on the street. How do i report this? Please help. I have had enough and nobody else can see how much BS this pathetic excuse of a man is producing, so i am going to do it. Don't lecture me on how to deal or learn to cope with this man, i gave up on him a long time ago and means nothing to me. I just want to see him suffer Thanks in advance Also, i have spoken to my mother and she despises him as much as i do. I am 16, and i have not bothered with him for years. He has done nothing but let everyone down for years, so i decided that i would not stand for it anymore and give up on him. My mother does not bother that i hate him - she understands and sympathises. Also, his brakes do not work properly either as well as his handbrakes. He has no intentions to fix either and is posing a serious risk to people he drives with and around. I have no wishes at all to rekindle some sort of bond with this man, i just want him out of my life for good. I know that everyone else has not give up on him and i am not trying to influence them to, but i know that one day he will do something that will make them feel like i have for years. I just want to hurt him where it will hurt most, i am a vengeful person and to be honest, i do not consider him a role model to anyone - i loathe the man and i always will. He is a useless father
Baby seat in pickup truck - front seat - rear-facing seat ? I'm asking this question in both the baby/parent category as well as the cars/safety category. We're expecting our first baby in June. Putting the baby seat in the back seat of my wife's car is no problem. however, I drive a Pickup with a regular cab (no back seat) - full-size pickup, 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500. The pickup owner's manual says that it's OK to put a child seat in the front seat (passenger side) as long as: -- (A) the passenger side airbag is shut off (there's a switch on the dash to do this).. and -- (B) the child is in a rear-facing child seat that is correctly installed, etc. My question is this - is the rear-facing child seat in the front of the pickup just as safe as the regular seat in the back seat of the car? Any links to websites or studies, or other web-links with more information would be most appreciated. THANK YOU !!!
honda accord window locks? is there a way to disengage the safety locks for my rear passenger side windows? i dont carry children in my car and its sort of a drag for the backseat. i own a 95 accord.

Need opinions - I am afraid to let my hearing impaired father-in-law drive my children in his car.? I am concerned for my children's safety and am fearful of letting them be passengers in my inlaws car. First, my father-in-law is deaf in one ear and mostly deaf in the other. He is 73 and in good health otherwise but the fact is he is not 40 anymore. I have young children who frequently scream in the car and I am concerned about him being a distracted driver. He is a wonderful person and I never want to hurt feelings but I really feel I have to do what I think is right for my children. My husband disagrees with me and I feel he is not objective because it is his father. Also my mother-in-law completely disagrees with everything I do and think and tell my husband that the real reason is I want to control them. Honestly, my mother-in-law has her good points as she is good to my children and she has done nice things for me over the years. However, she had done equally not nice things too and I could try to dissuade a relationship but I would never do that. Even though she tries to get my 9 year old daughter to say bad things about me I still encourage my children to see their grandparents and have a relationship with my inlaws. Examples of things she will say have "private" conversations with my daughter and say that she is mad at me for not giving my daughter an allowance - my daughter will say it's Daddy who decided that (in truth we he and I decided together she is too young but my daughter has told me she is tired of her grandmother saying bad things about me) and my mother-in-law with say I don't believe it! It's truly stupid examples but I have a problem with the sneakiness of it. My husband and are at odds with each other over the whole driving thing and it has put a tremendous strain on our marriage. We acutally had this fight 2 years ago and although we didn't agree we moved past it. However, my mother-in-law pushes and pushes when she doesn't get her way and continuously brings it up and points out to my husband all my "faults' This last time it started out because they wanted my kids to sleep over at their house (on separate ocassions) and we were trying to figure out dates. My mother-in-law asked me to bring my calendar to her house that following weeked (Father's Day) and I was fine with that. I wound up getting sick with the flu the week between. I was still ill but better and we went over to my inlaws and had a nice day and I even took a short nap since I wasn't really well. As we were leaving my mother-in-law made a huge deal over the fact that I forgot the calendar and said that the kids had camp all of July so it probably wouldn't be till August anyway. I tried talking to her a few days later to discuss and she went into a long diatribe as how I never want my kids to see her and when I do it's only for a short time, it's never long enough and then when it's long enough, it's not good enough because they can't take them in the car. No matter the situation my mother-in-law twists things to suit her needs and she constantly badmouths me when there are no witnesses or to my daughter who she tells that people won't believe a 9 year old. My husband mostly backs me up when it comes to his mother because he is aware of her shortcomings. However, this time I think because it involves his father (he's the driver, she drives but not much) and his father is a good guy he's being very emotional about this and telling me I should trust his judgment and why should I get my way since he's the parent also and I'm doing this just be controlling. It would be SO MUCH easier to agree but I am genuinely afraid and I resent that my judgment doesn't count and that 2 years later we are again having this argument and that our marriage is strained as a result. My husband is a great father and overall a great husband but when we disagree he is very unfair and fights mean and says mean things. Last night my daughter heard us arguing about this - my husband and I were both wrong to argue so loudly but of course in my husband's eyes this is all my fault which is so frustrating and disheartening. I really have no one I can go do about this and I am truly distraught, anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate any help.

Do you think that radical Feminism has deminished Mens/Fathers rights? Twenty One Indicators of Systemic Discrimination Against Men The American woman by the 1960s lived in the nation with the world's highest standard of living and owned 65% of the wealth in that nation. Feminists "felt victimized", however, and convinced American women that they are "discriminated against". Never have they been required to nor been able to produce a shred of statistical evidence to back up that claim. Twenty one key statistical indicators each illustrate how men have been and are being systematically discriminated against by government fiat. WEALTH: Women hold 65% of the country's wealth [Fortune Magazine] CHILD CUSTODY: Women receive custody of 92% of the children of divorce and illegitimacy, and men only 4%. [Department of Health & Human Services] INCOME: Men constitute 60% of workplace hours, work longer hours, work harder, and are more qualified, rarely file sexual discrimination or harassment lawsuits or take pregnancy leave, yet earn only 42% more than women [Dept. Labor] SUICIDE: Men's suicide rate is 4.6 times higher than women's [Dept. Health & Human Services -- 26,710 males vs 5,700 females] LIFE EXPECTANCY: Men's life expectancy is seven (7) years shorter than women's [National Center for Health Statistics -- males 72.3 yrs vs females 79 yrs] yet receive only 35% of government expenditures for health care and medical costs. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION: Men are discriminated against BY DESIGN through affirmative action. FEDERAL TAXES: Even though men pay 115% of federal income taxes women constitute 11% more of the voters. VOTE: Because there are 11% more female than male voters, males have little to no influence on how the male tax dollar is spent. WAR: Men, not women, fight and die in battle [Dept. Defense -- Vietnam Casualties 47,369 men vs 74 women] while women sue the taxpayer when they have their butt pinched. WORKPLACE FATALITIES: Men account for more than 95% of workplace fatalities. MURDER: Men are murdered at a rate almost 5 times that of women [Dept. Health & Human Services -- 26,710 men vs 5,700 women] JURY BIAS: Women are acquitted of spousal murder at a rate 9 times that of men [Bureau Justice Statistics -- 1.4% of men vs 12.9% of women] COURT BIAS: Men are sentenced 2.8 times longer than women for spousal murder [Bureau Justice Statistics -- men at 17 years vs women at 6 years] JUSTICE SYSTEM BIAS: Even though the amount of the average "child support payment" due from women is half the amount due from men, and even though women are twice as likely as men to default on those payments, fathers are 97% of "child support" collections prosecutions [Census Bureau] WELFARE: Even though men are the recipients of less than 10% of all welfare disbursements, men are required to refund welfare payments made to women. SECONDARY EDUCATION: Even though zero percent of American 12th grade girls were able to correctly answer basic math and physics questions, less than one quarter of America's secondary and elementary school teachers are men. HIGHER EDUCATION: There are more than 200 all-female colleges for women and now not one single all-male college for men. 5.8% fewer men than women are enrolled in 4 year colleges, even though two thirds of those who score higher than 550 in SAT Math are males. In 1993 only 44.5% of college enrollment were men, and that figure has declined since then. Only 45.8% of of bachelor's degrees were conferred to men in 1992, even though 98.2% of the top fiftieth percentile of the GRE are men, and ZERO PERCENT of American high school girls correctly answered 28 out of 67 TIMSS advanced math questions. Only 38.4% of private 4 year college students were men as of 1990, and this figure has declined since then. LEGAL SYSTEM BIAS: 96% of physical altercations resulting in injury to a spouse occurs AFTER the date of separation. [Read: spousal abuse laws that pretend that husbands are dangerous discriminate against husbands when we know that only a very small percent of domestic violence is associated with them]. [Chadwick and Heaton, "Statistical Handbook of the American Family"] DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Even though study after study shows that women are the majority of the initiators of domestic violence, and 58% of the above mentioned physical altercations are initiated by the female, Congress passed the obviously anti-male VAWA and VAWA II.which are known would make the problem far worse. [Read: despite the fact we discriminate against husbands in protective orders, women still cause more than half of domestic altercations because they know they can get away with it]. CHILD VIOLENCE: Even though mothers commit 55% of child murders and biological fathers commit 6%, even though NIS-3 shows that Mother-only households are 3 times more fatal to children than Father-only households, children are systematically removed from the natural fathers who are their most effective protectors and men are imprisoned at rate 20 times that of women. FAMILY BREAKDOWN: The US Surgeon General notes that divorce is more harmful to a man's health than smoking tobacco, yet as much as $1.3 Trillion of federal expenditures accomplish little else than undermine family stability. WOMEN PILOTS: Even though women pilots have an accident rate four times that of men pilots, federal laws require that airlines risk the safety of passengers and hire women pilots anyway. WOMEN DRIVERS: Even though the crash rate of women drivers is twice that of men drivers, and even though drinking alcohol increases the crash rate of men by only 5%, the majority of those imprisoned under DUI laws are men, and women are almost never imprisoned for their much higher number of non-alcohol- related crashes. INCARCERATION: Even though feminists brag that 1.4 million American brides commit adultery, and even though women file more than 90,000 false allegations of rape, every year, only 99,000 of the 1.8 million Americans behind bars are women. I am not afraid of strong women, just wimpy men. women complain about this all the time, and nobody really says anything. they just agree with them. But when a Man says the same thing, its get over it? I am just holding the feminists to there word "Equality". That means for Men and Fathers too..
Has violence against Americans increased because of the immigration issues? Lawmakers are weighing in and calling for Newsom's resignation as well as pundits, media and opinion editorials declaring that they believe that Newsom as well as other officials should be held legally responsible for being complicit in the death of the Bologna father and sons.http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree.blogspot.com/2008/07/san-francisco-sanctuary-city-shielded.htmlNews that SHOULD be presented by all the major, TV and radio networks, the BEATING DEATH OF A TWO-YEAR OLD GIRL BY HER OWN GRANDFATHER, is given in only 116 words on the website of a local, TV station in Oklahoma City. Now whyyyy would midstream media “journalists” like Nancy Grace, Wolf Blitzer and Katie Couric not pick up this story? That’s right, you guessed it, it’s an ILLEGAL ALIEN who murdered the little girl. And telling the truth about illegal aliens to the American people is bad for Big Business and Democrats. And besides, it’s “racist” to speak honestly about “undocumented immigrants”. The killer, ILLEGAL ALIEN from Guatemala, Herman Marzelo Vail Bailon, is a 32-year old GRANDFATHER, who just couldn’t keep his hands off the little girl. Police detained the ILLEGAL ALIEN SCUMBAG for questioning on Saturday after they were called to an Oklahoma City motel room where employees had been asked to help a choking toddler. But police say the presence of blood in the room indicated there was something more sinister happening. Police arrested the ALIEN PUKE on a child abuse complaint. Doctors then noticed bruising on Liliana’s body and further examination revealed the girl’s skull had been fractured and that she had suffered other injuries. AMERICA, DON’T EXPECT TO EVER HEAR ABOUT THIS AGAIN. In Michigan, ILLEGAL ALIEN, Rodrigo Delacruz-Encarnacion, killed 52-year old, William O’Brien, when the unlicensed, illegal alien with fake ID turned into the path of O’Brien, causing O’Brien’s Harley-Davidson, motorcycle to smash into the invader’s van. The illegal alien then tried to escape, forcing witnesses to detain the killer until police arrived. The denverpost says, “Driver identified in I-70 crash”, when what they SHOULD be saying is. “DRUNK ILLEGAL ALIEN KILLS HER OWN FRIEND”. A man was pronounced dead Friday night after being ejected from a sport utility vehicle carrying eight people involved in an alcohol-related crash off of Interstate 70 in Eagle County, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Jose De Jesus Trinidad-Esparza, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown where Trinidad-Esparza resides, the patrol reported. The driver has been identified as Lenora Hernandez, 20, of Avon, Colo. She faces numerous charges, including vehicular homicide, careless driving causing bodily injuries, driving under the influence and no driver’s license. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents found that Hernandez was an illegal alien, according to the patrol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stepfather booked in child’s death kten.com OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A 32-year-old man has been booked with first-degree murder in the death of his 2-year-old granddaughter. Illegal immigrant charged in fatal motorcycle crash in Holland blog.mlive.com HOLLAND (Michigan)– An illegal immigrant who allegedly caused a fatal crash by turning in front of a motorcyclist was charged Thursday with trying to leave the scene of the deadly collision. Rodrigo Delacruz-Encarnacion, 25, is jailed on a $100,000 bond following his arraignment in Holland District Court on the felony, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Police say Delacruz-Encarnacion is responsible for killing William O’Brien, 52, of Holland in an 8 p.m. Wednesday crash. O’Brien was driving his 1996 Harley-Davidson south on Butternut Drive when the suspect’s minivan turned into the path of his motorcycle. O’Brien could not avoid the crash, and struck the passenger side of the van. He died at the scene. His family declined to comment on the accident. Ottawa County sheriff’s Lt. Steve Kempker said witnesses had to detain Delacruz-Encarnacion at the scene of the crash until police arrived. He was arrested and taken to the Ottawa County Jail. The suspect has been in the country illegally since the spring and has been working odd jobs and living in migrant camps, police said. He allegedly had fraudulent identification when he was arrested. Authorities believe Delacruz-Encarnacion is a risk for fleeing the area since he has no ties to Holland. At approximately 11:50 p.m Friday, Hernandez lost control of a 1999 Ford Expedition heading westbound on I-70 and ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle rolled over two full times, ejecting Trinidad-Esparza. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The seven survivors suffered minor to moderate injuries and were treated and released from Vail Valley Medical Center. One of the passengers, Karen Rosales, 22, of Edwards, Colo., was found to have a $5,000 arrest warrant for assault and weapons charges, according to the patrol. The vehicle, which had been pulled over for unsafe lane use, stopped and then sped away as the officer approached the vehicle, stopping in a dirt pullout, according to the DPS. The driver, also an illegal immigrant, tried to run, then the officer tried to restrain him, at which time the officer was attacked by a passenger who attempted to choke him. After the officer broke free, the men fled. Six other illegal immigrants were in the vehicle and held at gunpoint by theAs the Illegal Immigration issue has taken a back-burner in this years Presidential election, the effects of open borders and a broken immigration system still linger on the American people. Just the other day, Tony Bologna and his two sons were shot to death after their car came close to another car driven by illegal alien felon Edwin Ramos. Ramos, 21, an illegal alien from El Salvador, simply pulled out his gun and killed these men in cold blood. Just last March, San Francisco police arrested Ramos on a gun charge and already had two other felony convictions before that. However, due to San Francisco’s “sanctuary city” policy, the city officials did not alert Homeland Security about Ramos. According to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, “We are standing up to say to all of our residents, we don’t care what your status is in terms of legal certification.” Since the shooting, Newsom has rescinded part of the sanctuary policy, but it is far too late for the Bologna family. How many times does this have to happen to American families? How many people have to suffer for the Federal government to step in and secure our borders? Deptford woman killed, illegal driver held on DWI, death by auto charges by South Jersey News Online Friday July 25, 2008, 11:11 AM FRANKLIN TWP. -- A 51-year-old Deptford Township woman died Thursday from injuries she received when her car was hit by an illegal immigrant who was driving drunk and with no license, police said. The crash occurred at about 5:35 p.m. Mijail L. Hernandes, 24, of Lake Worth, Fla., was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban west on Route 40 and allegedly failed to stop at a red lght, police said. The Suburban hit a 2008 Hyundai Tucson driven by Yvonne M. Pennewell, which was traveling south on Main Road, Route 555, said police. The Hyundai was forced off the Hyundai. Pennewell and her passenger, Crystal D. Ashmore, 25, of Vineland, had to be freed from the car by rescue crews. Both women were airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Pennewell died at Cooper. Ashmore was listed as being in serious condition, said police. Hernandes was taken to South Jersey Regional Health Center in Vineland, treated for minor ijuries and released. Hernandes was charged with death by auto, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, unlicensed driver resulting in death, unlicensed driver resulting in serious bodily injury, driving while intoxicated, failure to obey a traffic device, reckless driving, unlicensed driver and failure to wear a seat belt. Hernandes was committed to the Gloucester County Jail in Woodbury in default of $250,000 full cash bail. Police said the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement department has placed a detainer on Hernandes, as well.http://www.nj.com/southjersey/index.ssf/2008/07/deptford_woman_killed_illegal.html http://www.projo.com/news/content/supreme_court_immigration_07-20-08_1VATOVP_v33.3bf0d3c.html “The trial justice was faced with a young woman who entered the United States illegally, without notice to her family, and who then failed to protect her child in face of horrific abuse and continually lied to protect the abuser,” the court stated. Milan Azar, Lopez-Navor’s lawyer, said the case still haunts him. “In all my years as a lawyer, very few cases really stick with me but this one does. It was very sad.” Kevin Aucoin, chief legal counsel for DCYF, acknowledged that it is an emotionally wrenching case. “It certainly is a tragic case. “But this is a case where DCYF’s paramount concern had to do with the safety of the children, Alexis and Victoria,” said Aucoin. An illegal immigrant charged with killing two people in a South Richmond car crash now faces a $2.3 million wrongful-death suit filed by the family of one of the victims. The administrators of the estate of Kathryn L. Jones, who was fatally injured in the May 24 wreck, also has named as a defendant the construction company for which Carmen Alejandro Garcia-Hernandez was employed. Garcia-Hernandez was driving a pickup truck registered to R.J. Biringer Construction Co. Inc., whose owner, Ronald J. Biringer, is under federal indictment for transporting illegal immigrants. Richmond police allege that Garcia-Hernandez was driving the truck when it ran off Snead Road and hit a parked car that spun around and fatally injured two people standing next to it, Jones, 44, and Joseph Owens, 40, of Alberta in Brunswick County. Jones, a native of South Hill and the mother of two children, lived in the neighborhood were the crash occurred and was attending a house-warming party when she was struck, said Charles H. Cuthbert Jr., her attorney. She had been employed several years as a security guard for Wackenhut Corp., he said. After the crash, police said Garcia-Hernandez, 28, tried to flee the scene on foot, but witnesses detained him until officers arrived. He was indicted June 9 on two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and felony hit-and-run driving. According to the lawsuit, Garcia-Hernandez had a blood-alcohol level of 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08. His employer, Ronald Biringer, was indicted March 19 by a federal grand jury in Richmond on a single count of transporting illegal immigrants to Fort Lee. He was arrested a day later and released on bond.http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-07-18-0234.html The governor cited the recent arrest in Providence of Marco Riz, an illegal immigrant arrested several times before he allegedly kidnapped and raped a Warwick woman, as an example of the need for his executive order. One of the men, Benito Rayo Zavala of 3262 Hwy. 111/903, Albertson, is facing a long list of felony charges at the county level, while federal charges are pending against Ernesto Rayo Morales of 126 L.G. Westbrook Lane, Albertson. The men’s ages have not been confirmed by local authorities. Morales is an illegal immigrant and Zavala is also believed to be in the country illegally, Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace said in a recent press conference. The sheriff noted that both arrests were made as a result of probes by the multi-agency Duplin County Drug Enforcement Task Force, which executed search warrants at separate homes in the Albertson area earlier this month. Zavala was arrested on July 7 in the more recent case, when an investigation into the possible manufacturing and selling of methamphetamine culminated in a search of Zavala’s home. http://www.clintonnc.com/articles/2008/07/26/news/doc488a9ad2823d0605274558.txt

Well another of my pet queries ! Security for Passengers.....? Report in the "West Australian Newspaper " 23 Year old Train Passenger looks at suing over bashing....she intervened by telling an Aboriginal woman to stop swearing at her children, along with other passengers, this young lady decided to move to other carrige , was followed and bashed mercilessly by Aboriginal woman....lucky a man finally came to young ladys rescue. No..Guards on Train ! I have been using the transport for over 15 years and can tell you this is a normal thenomena ! People are constantly intimidated, Tourists are shocked and dissgusted by some of the behaviors and things they have seen. And i am appaled by the lack of respect for others by these people and all the money the government throws at them is not changing anything. Guards and the rail system need to be available on every train to protect the people of WEST Australia..(cannot speak for other states)... These people are jepodising the only transport for Seniors going into our City Hospital....Many City Workers....the Young People general lifestyle (not confident to venture out on public transport) Only the people left desperate and needing to use it are left out in the cold with no adequate protection. Personally apart from the 1% that reaches the paper there are another 90 incidents that never do. If the Tourism industry and Australian Government want these tourists and their money....It is time they play fare Dinkum ...and not just concentrate on how to get everyone to buy a ticket ....but how about some PERMANENT SAfety for every Train ! ! ! ! .... Did you read this??? Illegal sent home after "free" treatment in Ariz. Chris Hawley Republic Mexico City Bureau Mar. 17, 2008 12:00 AM ECATEPEC, Mexico - When the motorcycle that illegal immigrant Laura Velázquez was riding slammed into a concrete wall, it cost a Phoenix hospital $478,000 to save her life. The hospital is footing the bill. But Velázquez's life in America is finished after hospital officials sent her back to Mexico. Velázquez's story is an example of what happens when uninsured illegal immigrants need medical care, a problem that costs American hospitals and taxpayers millions of dollars each year. It's a critical issue, because a federal program aimed at reimbursing hospitals is scheduled to disappear at the end of this year. advertisement But Velázquez's case also shows how innocent people can get ensnared in the illegal-immigration controversy. Velázquez, now 22, never asked to come to the United States; she was brought as a child. She wasn't driving the motorcycle; she was only a passenger. Her journey home has attracted the attention of Mexico's national media. Government officials in Ecatepec, her hometown on the outskirts of Mexico City, say she should have been allowed to recover in Phoenix, and they have accused the United States of indifference. Velázquez, meanwhile, lies in a dim, windowless room in a relative's home in Ecatepec and thinks about how things used to be. "I want to walk again," she said, her voice a whisper because of a tracheotomy tube. "I want to go home." Twist of fate When Velázquez was 11 years old, she and her mother climbed into a car trunk in Nogales, Sonora, and emerged again in Arizona. They moved to Laveen with her father, a landscaping worker. Velázquez learned English, attended Summit High School and had two children with her high-school sweetheart. She worked off and on at a furniture store, processing credit applications. On Jan. 26, a neighbor invited her for a ride on his motorcycle. What happened next is unclear. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Police Department have no record of the crash. Velázquez remembers little, her family says. But whatever happened, it was violent. When an ambulance brought her to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, her upper spine was snapped, her left lung was collapsed, and her left leg and arm were broken. Paramedics reported that the motorcycle had hit a concrete wall, said Margaret McBride, the hospital's vice president of mission services. The driver escaped with minor injuries, said Velázquez's mother, Estela Loera. For days, Velázquez fought for her life. "The patient has been medically unstable," doctors' notes said. "Surgery has been canceled multiple times." In all, Velázquez underwent three operations to repair her spine, mend her bones and install breathing tubes. Costly care No one is sure how much uninsured illegal immigrants like Velázquez cost the United States, according to a 2004 report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office. That's because hospitals usually don't ask patients about their immigration status. But a study by the Border Counties Coalition estimated that illegal immigrants accounted for more than $200 million of the $845 million in unpaid medical and ambulance bills in 2002 at hospitals along the U.S.-Mexican border. By law, hospitals must treat emergency medical patients until they are healthy enough to be discharged. The cost is a serious burden for hospitals in border states. Some have had to cut back on other services. "I've had to close my OB department down, I've had to close my long-term-care facility down, because the drain on the resources doesn't allow it," said Jim Dickson, administrator of Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee. "We're into rationing because of the uncompensated (care)." Under pressure from lawmakers in border states, in 2003 the federal government set aside $250 million a year to reimburse hospitals for illegal-immigrant care. But the program applies only to the first two or three days of care, and the program expires at the end of this year. Hospital trade groups are lobbying to get it renewed. As Velázquez's tab grew, hospital officials knew they would never get the money back, McBride said. So they declared her a charity case, essentially forgiving her $478,000 bill. Last year, St. Joseph's spent $17 million on such charity cases, immigrants and U.S. citizens alike. "Ultimately, it does cost the community," McBride said. "It affects the programs we can offer, the technology we can buy, the raises we can give employees." Hospital officials knew another problem was on the horizon: Velázquez would need long-term care. Without insurance or legal residency, no U.S. hospital would take her. Mexico, however, has government-run hospitals and a free, if rudimentary, socialized medical system. Coming home Velázquez arrived in Hermosillo, capital of the northern Mexican state of Sonora, in an aircraft chartered by St. Joseph's. In her immigration photo, blue-and-white breathing tubes cover her face. Relatives went to the Ecatepec government for help bringing Velázquez the remaining 1,000 miles home. That's how the Mexican press learned about her case. "Woman deported in vegetative state," read a headline in the newspaper El Universal. "Hospital that treated her reported her as illegal," read one in El Gráfico. "(Mexican) federal authorities did nothing," El Milenio added. The stories exaggerated. Velásquez wasn't in a vegetative state, her family says. She can talk a little and move her head, arms and toes. She wasn't deported, either: McBride said St. Joseph's never had any contact with immigration officials. But at a time when the United States is building border fences and cracking down on illegal immigrants, the story of the comatose woman kicked out by the Americans quickly spread around Mexico. None of the articles mentioned the free medical care. The Ecatepec government looked into flying her home, but no airline would take a patient in such grave condition, said Osmar León, a city councilman who chairs the health committee. A chartered jet was out of the question: It would have cost $40,000, one-tenth of the city's entire health budget, he said. And so Velázquez was loaded into an ambulance for a 26-hour ride across Mexico. She cost Arizona taxpayers $478,000 DOLLARS!!! This is what only ONE illegal has cost Arizona taxpayers!! Is it any WONDER that we do NOT want them here?
Pregnant and/or Small Kids-- Would you rather have:? Pretend you live in a northern climate with lots of snow (snows about 6 months out of the year). Pretend you are either pregnant or have small kids or an infant. Which vehicle would you rather drive and why? Choices are: A 4 door hatchback sports car with a manual transmission, small space inside, very low to the ground. Not much passenger/cargo space. Has to have snow tires just to get around in the winter, and even then, doesn't go through deep snow at all. But, it's safe (6 air bags and excellent crash test ratings). OR A 4 wheel drive SUV with excellent crash test ratings, 8 air bags, sits high off the ground, very large cargo space and passenger room, automatic transmisison, only need one set of all-season tires because of four wheel drive and ground clearance. Easy to get in and out of. I am interested to know which one would be ideal for someone who is pregnant or has a small child. This is not about price of vehicle, make, or model. It is also not about gas mileage, purely about safety, security, and well-being. Thank you for your input. Please give reason for decision.

what do u think about the plot?does it look interesting? this is just the rough short story i've just written..give me your opinion about the plot..mind the grammar mistakes..i'll edit that later..can't wait to read your opinions! here's the story (it's just a fiction,ok.not a real life story) Kim just got back from her workplace. she was so tired that she can even sleep standing up. "huhhh..what a hectic week for me.." she had this big research project she have to handle causing her to stay up 24/7 for months now.luckily, the project finished successfully today. And she desperately asked for a holiday. She said she wanted to travel around the world..hehe..Actually,she's not.Traveling around the world means staying at home in her dictionaries.Looks like she's still like her teenage days.Naughty and always good in finding excuses and multiply reasons. She haven't changed a bit.Well, except for herself. She's 27 years old now.Still single.Childish for her age. She's not chubby anymore instead growing up to be a stunningly beautiful woman.Yet,she still haven't got any boyfriend mainly because she refuses to go out with them. She'll create various reasons for not going on the blind dates her friends set up.Or,she'd just play with them. Deep down, she still haven't recovered from her past relationship.or so-called relationship.Apparently, she never intended to forget her first love. But now she's concentrating on her career as a researcher and barely even got time for herself until she get her sabbatical holiday approved. She never been this happy before.Well, except when she's seventeen. on her first day of the holiday, she just spend the time at home looking at a giant pile of mess made by her all this time. She really need a maid. after a week at home, she starts going out.First, she went to the mall to shop some stuffs she'd been longing before. You can say that she's quite a shopaholic. All her friends including her 2 best friends were overseas. It's been a long time since they hang out together and talk about their lives. And she isn't quite making friends at her work place considering all her colleagues are nerds. As she thought. So,she'll go out on her own. She's really a loner, isn't it?Living in her own world and all. On the way back home, she rides the train to save money.ha!!Who knows the train would be so crowded. It's not even in weekend!she thought. It's been a long time since her last train ride to home. She usually go home with her convertible. after a few stations, she managed to get a sit nearby the door.Without her realize, she's asleep along with dozens of shopping bags. She didn't realize the train was already making a turn back to the main station by the time she woke up.She still has a long way back home. Listening to her i pod,she looked at the surrounding. It's not that crowded now since all the passengers were in their seat and most of them were sleeping anyway. Then, she saw a young couple.Maybe they're in 16 or 17 since they're still wearing the school uniforms and they were holding hands?? "huhh..whatever you kids"she mumbled on her own. Then, the train stopped at the same station she went earlier. If only she's not asleep after that, then, she wouldn't have to be in this train any longer.. As usual, the door opened and people were rushing by to get a sit but all the seats were taken by the previous passenger. She saw this old woman..maybe in her 70s struggling on her way in..Are this people even notice her? Without any further ado,she gave the woman her sit. She's not being nice but afraid the woman will stumble on her feet if the train speeds. So,now she's back on standing. It's quite a job to hold on when you're holding a giant shopping bags while trying to get your i pod to switch it off.Suddenly, her i pod dropped while she's trying to get it in her jeans pocket. Luckily, there's a hand grabbing the i pod and hand it to her. "There you go miss.."the man gave her a look and smile. As usual, she didn't even look at his face and just picked the i pod quickly. She didn't want to mess up with this guy and immediately looked away. "Kimberly Annabella Stewart.."she heard someone called her name. People never call her by that name. All her friends called her Kim,,her nickname when she's a teenager and also her cyber name.Maybe she's just hallucinating, considering she's really thirsty now and lack of water really can make you feel.. "Kimberly Annabella Stewart!" She spun around to look at the previous guy who gave her the i pod.How did he know her name anyway.Does it on her i pod or something. It takes a while for her to digest the information and look carefully at the person before her stomach gave a full blast of roller coaster ride. It's him. "Could that guy be him?"she gave herself a monologue. The guy must have been aware by her confused and pale look and approached her. "Kim.."he called again. that was the name her friends called her.only it's not colleague friends. It's just the friend from the past.. She now realized he was Gerry before everything went black- ******************************************************************** She woke up with a heavy feeling on her head. Her throat feels dry and she need a mirror. "Ouchhh..what the hell had happened?"she mumbled again with her hand on her head. It was like a flash of light the nurse came. She have the sweet face and didn't look fierce as she assumed. "So,how do you feel today miss?" "Yeah yeah...i feel fine..sort of.Eh,what day is today? What time?Since when I'm here?"she asked the nurse impatiently. "It's been 2 days now.I heard you passed out in the train on the way back home for dehydration.Your friend came yesterday and stayed with you until this morning before he had to go for some urgent call".the nurse carefully replied. "Okay..hold on!did you just say he??"She's surprised and tried to recall back what happened on that day. Then, the nurse almost dropped her tray when she almost jumped off the bed. "what??!hey nurse, what's his name?i mean, the friend of mine who..who.." Her voice trailed off when she finally remembered the voice calling her on that day.The voice she'd been longing to hear for a long time. How could she didn't recognize that face earlier? It could have been easier to run away and not meeting him in this most embarrassed way in the whole world. She can't believe that she just passed out in front of that guy! "..miss...miss..do you hear me?his name is Gerry if I'm not mistaken" Now,she felt like fainting again..She need to get out from here ASAP before he came back. She asked again the poor nurse when she would be released and glad to hear that she'll be released this evening of the test gave no problem. Then, she went to the bathroom to look at the mirror. She looked unhealthy.Pale.Her face is skinny and the bone jaw is almost visible.Maybe that's why he can't recognize her earlier because she looked totally different from the 17 year old Kim.As far as she remember, she looked chubby and well, fat. Now,she barely even seen a single fat in her body. Her ribs are clearly visible and her but didn't even show up.And she's not wearing that glasses anymore thanks to the laser surgery a few years ago. What a transformation she'd been through. And of course, they haven't met in years after the tragic accident happened. It's not that tragic anyway..but tragic enough for her to change everything and recovering from the trauma is way more harder than anyone could think. She finally washed her face and her hands before looking for a clean towel and rub her hand and face. Looks like the game is not over yet because when she exit from the toilet, she found out that the guy she'd been thinking was standing in front of the door, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers. She realized that her mouth was hanging open before she closed them back..hehe "I'm sorry for not recognizing you at the first place" he started the conversation after a long silence. It's like the time has stopped or something. She barely can't hear a pin drop. "Yeah..me too"she croaked. "I mean, look at you. You've changed a lot Kim...A lot" "Well,i almost couldn't recognize you either. You seemed grown up".Finally she find the right word to say. She didn't want him to know that she'd been suffering all this time for him.Just to forget him and he came back now?? "I think you better sit down first. You looked like you're about to pass out again.Luckily,I can catch you up the last time coz you're so light."He tried to make a joke.As usual, she didn't laugh or smile. What??he catch me the last time. That must be embarrassing. He must have look at her burning cheek when tried to change the conversation. He told her about the meeting on the train and her still ignoring people and all.He asked her again what she was doing now.. She must have been fallen asleep again when he talked to her that afternoon coz he left her a note beside the bed. "Never change huh cutie?Still sleeping like a baby even though you're obviously 27 now..hehe..will call you later.I already take your phone number inside your bag..and by the way..I LOVE YOU" Gerry What????????!!!!!!!!After all this time he's still saying that to her?Didn't he remember what happened 10 years ago??Didn't he remembered how he left her there after she finally able to express all my feelings toward him?Did he ever remember that? After all the humiliation and mortification she have to face with all their friends. All of them?Did he ever felt that?In front of Pam and Alice? Can he imagined what people said about her when she finished my sentence? Can he imagine what she'd been called? And did he know that sheI have to start my life all over again before she could actually got a job?Did he knew that? All he knows is saying that stupid things all over again. She can't take it anymore! 3 days later,Kim went home knowing her nightmares are going to be back again. After all those years she realized that still haven't get over him yet.But what can she do about that now? She already know the answer 10 years ago..She get it already but then, when he came back like this..things are getting like the old time again.Suddenly, all the memories came back like a film negatives. Some of them are very clear and some of them still blurred in her mind. That night, she went asleep clutching the old diaries where all the feelings came back live in her mind once again.. The next day,she woke up hearing the alarm clock..maybe from the neighbors. It takes a while before she figured out that it was actually her phone ringing. She was too sleepy to read the caller id and just picked up the phone instead.Who could have wake her at 8 am in the morning on her holiday?? "hullo.."she mumbled,as usual "hello, can I speak to Kim please.." Suddenly, she's startled to hear that familiar voice. It was him! So,it's true about him taking her phone number huh? He started the one hour conversation and finally asked Kim out.To catch up each others' life,as he said. She had no choice but to accept the offer thinking that he might call again and again. And she didn't want that to happen..hohhhh.. Later that night, she found herself digging the closet finding suitable clothing for that stupid dinner. After 15 minutes of hard work, she found herself her favorite shirt and khaki pants(it's uncomfortable to wear jeans in front of him). It's like going on a first date or something. But still. It's not a date.. When she arrived at the fancy restaurant(didn't know that this guy even had a taste like this),he's already waiting for her patiently at the table nearby the large window.Nice view!I didn't know what did he see in me.Well, she knows she's not wearing an appropriate dress and all.Wearing sneakers never harm anyone, right? She heard her stomach make a grumbling noise and realized she haven't eat anything today yet.No wonder she's so skinny. Now,she really misses her old body back. The 17 years old Kim seems happy..not like her now.She looked like people with anorexia or something. "Can we take orders now?"he asked her politely. Since when this guy was being polite with her?As far as she remembered,he never talk nicely to her.In fact, they're always teasing each other..10 years back that is.Now,everything seems different. "So,what have you become Ger?"She used to called him Ger. Now,it seems awkward calling him by that name. This is because he wasn't the old Gerry anymore. In fact,he looked hot.She immediately cut the thought out of her mind. "I'm a 3D animator".he replied with a slight smile on his face. That's cute! "Owhhhh...seems like you have what you've been dreaming of right?Being a 3D animator and all" "Yeahh..you're right.except for one thing".his face look solemn all of the sudden. His expression,is however, can't be read.Is this Gerry that she'd known before?10 years ago,he'll tell her everything,,almost anything. "What's that thing?" "Being with someone whom I love" *cough* that made she choked on her salad.what???! and she thought he's already married. What happened to her fiancee he always mentioning? "eh,i thought you're married with Jennifer..what happened?" his expressionless face suddenly turned out to be moody all of the sudden and she knew she had said the wrong word..oooopsss.. "I'm sorry to ask you that. You don't need to answer that".She said reluctantly. "ermmm..never mind. We're going to tell everything happened in our lives anyway..Let me start" You can tell that she just lose her appetite to eat that delicious meal to hear what he's saying. She's always been like that. "Actually,I didn't get married with her."she tried not to show her shocked face as he spoke. "We're getting so closed on that day before I realized one thing.I didn't love her.I thought I could love her after..after I made the decision about you..I really thought I can do that".he started to get emotional. Kim,on the other hand, stood there like a statue listening to the confession.Tears are just starting to flow.. "I really forced myself at that time.I concentrate on my studies and tried to forget you.Every time there's a message arrived,I thought it was you and it's actually not.And I realized that you're not coming back.I tried to contact your cell phone, but you already changed the number and even your best friends didn't know your current number. Then, everything starts to crumble in front of me.I started to isolate myself from the crowd and starts living in my own world.I was being you, munie!I remembered to tease you about being inside the snow globe and I'm staying in that kind of world now.I don't even know myself anymore.I can't even find you during all the KEX gatherings. It's like you're disappearing or something.I have asked so many people, but they themselves didn't know where are you.It seems like you're dead to me.I started to realized that I had lose the girl I love the most just because I can't love her because of the stupid family arrangement.Just because she finally summoned her courage to tell me that she really loves me.I left her at that point. The point which can make a whole lot of differences if I didn't done that.I shouldn't have left that girl.Suddenly, all the memories came by like a flood.Memories about her that haunts me until today. And when I met her now,she had changed dramatically, because of my fault.I am so sorry Kim..I didn't mean to hurt you so much. It's just that I'm so stupid and immature and dumb to realized the consequences after that. But I just want you to know that I still love you and in fact the love is growing for the past 10 years.I'm not sure what makes me found you in the train.but I think we're destined for each other.... " "okay..that's enough!!"Kim snapped harshly. She didn't know how much tears have been produced but she just can't take it anymore. How could he have done that to her so much?Maybe the fact that he's still love her is true.but that doesn't mean he can get away that easily. There's just no way! "I think I better get going.."her voice trembling as she made her way out of the restaurant. She just couldn't take that explanation anymore. She couldn't digest any of this. It's the best for them not to see each other anymore. She tried to walk away as fast as she could to her car across the road. She didn't care when he tried calling her name and shouting something she couldn't heard. Then, she saw the bright light coming from the side of the road.Maybe it's a spotlight.Or is it a car? Then, everything when blurred. After she saw the bright light, she heard a loud bang from the nowhere. She couldn't think of anything else. What is up with that loud noise anyway? She heard a weird sound rushing towards her.Among the noises, she barely hear the sound of someone calling her name... *********************************************************************** When Gerry finished saying his words,Kim just got out from the restaurant hurriedly. He called her name several times but she just didn't hear that.In fact, she's on her way back to her car.He must catch her.or else,he might not see that woman again for the rest of his life. But then,he saw a lorry coming across the road and it was way fast. There's a fat chance the lorry can't see the skinny Kim in the dark.Plus, she's wearing a black shirt. Everything went so fast when he tried to called her back. The collision just happened in front of his very eyes!! He doesn't know what to do but to just ran towards her and grab her tightly.. "Oh my god..wake up!!" "Kim!!wake up!you have to wake up!I'm not finished yet.." he can feel the tears running like a Niagara fall but he didn't care. All that matters now is her safety and that didn't look good. "please wake up!i need you!i have been waiting the moment to meet you back so,wake up!Therese lots more to talk about!!" He saw her hand is still moving but she's definitely badly injured. The blood is everywhere! And where is the ambulance?? He saw her eyes opened a little and he thinks she's trying to say something.Oh god.Don't let her die.He couldn't cope that.He already loses her once. "there's something you need to know".her voice croaked. "Kim..please stay with me.Don't die yet!"he's pleading like a child wanting a lollipop. "do you know that.....i...really...really love you?"it seems hard for her saying that words for the second time. but this is not a perfect timing really. "i know..i know..from the beginning.but please stay with me..please.." "I'm tired Ger..I'm really tired of all these". "no you can't give up now!" he can feel a crowd of people surrounding them hearing him shouting like a maniac. "can someone please call an ambulance!!???" "i love you.." that's all he heard before she closed her eyes back.. ************************************************************************ 3 years later... It was not a perfect morning for Gerry because as he wake up,the sound of the noise from the neighbor crashes his Sunday morning. he's been busy for the days of the week. So,he couldn't be disturbed on the weekend.. "what a morning.." he immediately wake up and take a warm shower before heading downtown for breakfast.A usual weekend routine he had for years now. The weather seems nice and sunny today. "Perfect for a vacation!"he thought. after the breakfast,he went to the usual place he would hangout on the weekend, hospital.Maybe it sounds weird for normal people. But for him,it's like a home sweet home. After saying hi to the nurses working in the morning shift,he went straight to the room. It was huge.Like a master bedroom in a house complete with a large plasma TV,furniture, toilet and bathroom and also a small kitchen. It was like a small apartment. But,it's a hospital in reality. He tiptoed and enter the room just like not to disturb the people who's sleeping in there. At the huge rack,Therese lots of book collection from childhood until adulthood.all the CDs and DVDs were kept neatly below them.it was just like a small house. "Hey,I brought you some more books..but I'm not going to read this today because I'm too tired and I need a good sleep..Mind if I join you?" Whoever passing the room must have thought he was talking to himself.Well,he's not.In fact,he was talking to his beloved wife. He then put the book aside and take a nap beside the person sleeping on the bed.No signs of her waking up to reply to him. But,she can definitely heard him clearly. The accident 3 years ago made Kim in comatose condition. He still remember when the doctor said she'd never wake up maybe for the rest of her life. But he would never give up.The doctor said if their family support the patient mentally and physically, the chances of her waking up maybe a little bit higher.a little.but,he never gave up.He spent almost his time watching over her and eventually starts talking and reading books and articles for her.He knew she'd listen because the doctor said so. He began to tell her every single detail what happened in his life..just like he intended to..and he also started to decorate the room just like a home to make sure she's comfortable. This act has inspire many people from that hospital.Even the doctor was impressed with the couple. They're so strong. If only that accident didn't occur than they would live happily ever after.but,it's been 3 years now and still no change from her.she's still looks like that.that cute face almost haven't change for 3 years.and yet she's still sleeping like a sleeping beauty waiting for her prince charming to come and kiss her. But,it's just a fairy tale. Even though she might not waking up forever, the most important thing is he already know the answer.they both know it perfectly well and all the questions are now pretty well-answered coz it only narrows to one thing, they love each other... sorry if it is too long..

Everyone read this..more like a rhetorical ? This might be long, but it is simply the greatest thing I have ever read. Enjoy. One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me: "Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident." This is true. Remember, the murder rate is six per 100,000 per year, and the aggravated assault rate is four per 1,000 per year. What this means is that the vast majority of Americans are not inclined to hurt one another. Some estimates say that two million Americans are victims of violent crimes every year, a tragic, staggering number, perhaps an all-time record rate of violent crime. But there are almost 300 million Americans, which means that the odds of being a victim of violent crime is considerably less than one in a hundred on any given year. Furthermore, since many violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders, the actual number of violent citizens is considerably less than two million. Thus there is a paradox, and we must grasp both ends of the situation: We may well be in the most violent times in history, but violence is still remarkably rare. This is because most citizens are kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are sheep. I mean nothing negative by calling them sheep. To me, it is like the pretty, blue robin's egg. Inside it is soft and gooey but someday it will grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without its hard blue shell. Police officers, soldiers, and other warriors are like that shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful. For now, though, they need warriors to protect them from the predators. "Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You had better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial. "Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf." If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero's path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed Let me expand on this old soldier's excellent model of the sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. We know that the sheep live in denial, that is what makes them sheep. They do not want to believe that there is evil in the world. They can accept the fact that fires can happen, which is why they want fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, fire alarms and fire exits throughout their kids' schools. But many of them are outraged at the idea of putting an armed police officer in their kid's school. Our children are thousands of times more likely to be killed or seriously injured by school violence than fire, but the sheep's only response to the possibility of violence is denial. The idea of someone coming to kill or harm their child is just too hard, and so they chose the path of denial. The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog that intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours. Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn't tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports, in camouflage fatigues, holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, "Baa." Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog. The students, the victims, at Columbine High School were big, tough high school students, and under ordinary circumstances they would not have had the time of day for a police officer. They were not bad kids; they just had nothing to say to a cop. When the school was under attack, however, and SWAT teams were clearing the rooms and hallways, the officers had to physically peel those clinging, sobbing kids off of them. This is how the little lambs feel about their sheepdog when the wolf is at the door. Look at what happened after September 11, 2001 when the wolf pounded hard on the door. Remember how America, more than ever before, felt differently about their law enforcement officers and military personnel? Remember how many times you heard the word hero? Understand that there is nothing morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. Also understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter: He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle. That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed, right along with the young ones. Here is how the sheep and the sheepdog think differently. The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, most of the sheep, that is, most citizens in America said, "Thank God I wasn't on one of those planes." The sheepdogs, the warriors, said, "Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference." When you are truly transformed into a warrior and have truly invested yourself into warrior hood, you want to be there. You want to be able to make a difference. There was research conducted a few years ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: Slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims the same way big cats do in Africa, when they select one out of the herd that is least able to protect itself. Some people may be destined to be sheep and others might be genetically primed to be wolves or sheepdogs. But I believe that most people can choose which one they want to be, and I'm proud to say that more and more Americans are choosing to become sheepdogs. Seven months after the attack on September 11, 2001, Todd Beamer was honored in his hometown of Cranbury, New Jersey. Todd, as you recall, was the man on Flight 93 over Pennsylvania who called on his cell phone to alert an operator from United Airlines about the hijacking. When he learned of the other three passenger planes that had been used as weapons, Todd dropped his phone and uttered the words, "Let's roll," which authorities believe was a signal to the other passengers to confront the terrorist hijackers. In one hour, a transformation occurred among the passengers - athletes, business people and parents. From sheep to sheepdogs and together they fought the wolves, ultimately saving an unknown number of lives on the ground. If you want to be a sheep, then you can be a sheep and that is okay, but you must understand the price you pay. When the wolf comes, you and your loved ones are going to die if there is not a sheepdog there to protect you. If you want to be a wolf, you can be one, but the sheepdogs are going to hunt you down and you will never have rest, safety, trust or love. But if you want to be a sheepdog and walk the warrior's path, then you must make a conscious and moral decision every day to dedicate, equip and prepare yourself to thrive in that toxic, corrosive moment when the wolf comes knocking at the door. or example, many officers carry their weapons in church. They are well concealed in ankle holsters, shoulder holsters or inside-the-belt holsters tucked into the small of their backs. Anytime you go to some form of religious service, there is a very good chance that a police officer in your congregation is carrying. You will never know if there is such an individual in your place of worship, until the wolf appears to massacre you and your loved ones. I was training a group of police officers in Texas, and during the break, one officer asked his friend if he carried his weapon in church. The other cop replied, "I will never be caught without my gun in church." I asked why he felt so strongly about this, and he told me about a cop he knew who was at a church massacre in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1999. In that incident, a mentally deranged individual came into the church and opened fire, gunning down fourteen people. He said that officer believed he could have saved every life that day if he had been carrying his gun. His own son was shot, and all he could do was throw himself on the boy's body and wait to die. That cop looked me in the eye and said, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself after that?" Some individuals would be horrified if they knew this police officer was carrying a weapon in church. They might call him paranoid and would probably scorn him. Yet these same individuals would be enraged and would call for "heads to roll" if they found out that the airbags in their cars were defective, or that the fire extinguisher and fire sprinklers in their kids' school did not work. They can accept the fact that fires and traffic accidents can happen and that there must be safeguards against them. Their only response to the wolf, though, is denial, and all too often their response to the sheepdog is scorn and disdain. But the sheepdog quietly asks himself, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself if your loved ones were attacked and killed and you had to stand there helplessly because you were unprepared for that day?" It is denial that turns people into sheep. Sheep are psychologically destroyed by combat because their only defense is denial, which is counterproductive and destructive, resulting in fear, helplessness and horror when the wolf shows up. Denial kills you twice. It kills you once, at your moment of truth when you are not physically prepared: you didn't bring your gun, you didn't train. Your only defense was wishful thinking. Hope is not a strategy. Denial kills you a second time because even if you do physically survive, you are psychologically shattered by your fear, helplessness and horror at your moment of truth. Gavin de Becker puts it like this in Fear Less, his superb post-9/11 book, which should be required reading for anyone trying to come to terms with our current world situation: "...denial can be seductive, but it has an insidious side effect. For all the peace of mind deniers think they get by saying it isn't so, the fall they take when faced with new violence is all the more unsettling."
How old does a child passenger hae to be to ride on the back of a scooter in FL? Okay so Im looking to buy one of those smaller scooters that you dont need the motorcycle DL for. With gas prices so high, and my car giving me so many damn problems it feels like a good smart idea. Problem is... I have a 5 year old daughter. Would it be both legal and safe for her to ride on the back with me? Im one of THOSE parents that is super safety consciencious parents when it comes to my daughter, I still have her in a 5-point harness in the car, and she will stay like that till she is like 9! It would only be around town and to school and back for the both of us... no highways obviously. I have also looked all over the internet to see if there is a certain age to be the passenger... and all I have found is something stating as long as she rides in the back of me and not the front and as long as she can wrap her arms around me it is okay... is this correct??? Also if everything is Okay... where would I find a helmet for her? A Childs motorcycle is ideal...

She went to the coke machine and when she put her money in, a coke came out - so she kept putting money in. And since it was such a hot day, a line had formed behind her. Finally, a guy on line said, "Will you hurry up? We're all hot and thirsty!" And the blonde said, "No way. I'm still winning!" Poor Old Man This old man goes to the doctor's. "Help, Doc. "I wouldn't know what to say," replied the little girl, shyly. "Just say what you hear Mommy say, sweetie," the woman said. Her daughter took a deep breath, bowed her head, and solemnly said, "Dear Lord, why the hell did I invite all these people to dinner!?!" Grass Eater A man was riding in the back of his limousine when he saw a man eating grass by the roadside. He ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate. "Why are you eating grass?" he asked the man. "I don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "Oh, please come to my house!" "But sir, I have a wife and four children..." "Bring them along!" the rich man said. They all climbed into the limo. Once underway, the poor fellow said, "Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us in." It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabs for the horse''s mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse''s neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly ignorant of its slipping rider. Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot becomes entangled in the stirrup, and she is now at the mercy of the horse''s pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over. She starts to lose consciousness, but to her great fortune, Bobby, the Wal-Mart greeter, sees her and unplugs the horse. Mini Meanie The golf course was haunted by a malicious, evil leprechaun who exploited the ambitions of the poorer players. He popped up beside one unfortunate man who was participating in a club competition. "Look," he said, "if you agree never to court a woman, flirt with a girl or marry, I'll help you win." "Done," shouted the young golfer. The leprechaun was very pleased with conniving ways, and chuckled merrily. When the golfer was in the clubhouse being praised by the other members, the leprechaun popped up on the shelf of the locker. "Hey," said the little elf, "I have to have your name for my records. What is it?" "Father Murphy," grinned the golfer as he adjusted his Roman collar. Son: "Daddy, I have to write a special report for school, but I don't know what Politics is." Father: "Well, let's take our home as an example. I am the bread-winner, so let's call me Capitalism. Your Mum is the administrator of money, so we'll call her Government. We take care of your need, so let's call you The People. We'll call the maid the Working Class and your brother we can call The Future. Do you understand son?" Son: "I'm not really sure, Dad. I'll have to think about it." That night awakened by his brother's crying, the boy went to see what was wrong. Discovering that the baby had seriously soiled his diaper, the boy went to his parents' room and found his mother sound asleep. He went to the maid's room, where, peeking through the keyhole, he saw his father in bed with the maid. The boy's knocking went totally unheeded by his father and the maid, so the boy returned to his room and went back to sleep. The next morning he reported to his father. Son: "Dad, now I think I understand what Politics is." Father: "Good son! Can you explain it to me in your own words?" Son: "Well Dad, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, Government is sound asleep, the People are being completely ignored and the Future is full of Shit." The Deacon and the Preacher There once was this deacon and this preacher, and they had been friends for a long time. One day the deacon got sick and was put in the hospital, so the preacher decided to go and see his old friend. When he walked into the hospital room, the preacher noticed all the hoses and medical equipment attached to the deacon. The preacher walked over and kneeled by the bed and asked, ''How ya doing?'' The deacon motioned at a pad and pen on the nightstand. ''You want that?'' the preacher asked him, and the deacon nodded his head yes. So the preacher handed his friend the pad and pen and the deacon began to write. All of a sudden the deacon died. At his funeral, the preacher was asked to deliver the service. ''He was a good man and I'll never forget him,'' the preacher said, ''I was with him when he died and as a matter of fact I have his last thought in my coat pocket here.'' The preacher reaches into his pocket and pulls out the paper. ''Please, get up! You're kneeling on my oxygen hose!'' Too Smart A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Harry, what's your problem?" Harry answered, "I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!" Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office. While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed. Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test. Principal: "What is 3 x 3?" Harry: "9". Principal: "What is 6 x 6?" Harry: "36". And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader should know. The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, "I think Harry can go to the 3rd grade." Ms. Brooks says to the principal, "Let me ask him some questions." The principal and Harry both agreed. Ms. Brooks asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?" Harry, after a moment: "Legs." Ms. Brooks: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?" The principal wondered, why would she ask such a question! Harry replied: "Pockets." Ms. Brooks: "What does a dog do that a man steps into?" Harry: "Pants" Ms. Brooks: What's starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid? Harry: "Coconut." The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open. Ms. Brooks: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?" The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer. Harry: "Bubble gum" Ms. Brooks: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?" Harry: "Shake hands." The principal was trembling. Ms. Brooks: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and excitement?" Harry: "Firetruck" The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong...... A priest, Jesus, and an old man tee off. The priest drives the green within 5 yards of the hole. Jesus slices the ball and it goes into the water hazard. He quickly runs across the water and hits his second onto the green 2 inches from the hole. The old man tees off with a short worm burner that trickles into the hazard. Soon after a fish eats the ball and swims across the pond with it in its mouth. Just then an eagle swoops down and snatches the fish with the golf ball and flies off. The eagle loses its grip and drops the fish on the green. The fish then spits out the ball and it rolls into the hole for a hole in one. Jesus turns to the old man and replies, "Play fair dad!" Yesterday I was at the local Wal-Mart. Now I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out, there he was - a damn Motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket ... So, I went to him and said: "Come on Buddy, how about giving a guy a break?" He simply ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So, I called him a pencil necked Nazi. He then glared at me and started writing another ticket for having bald tires! So, I called him a sorry excuse for a human being. He then finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first. Then he started to write a third ticket! This went on for about 25 minutes ... the more I abused and hurled insults at him, the more tickets he wrote ... But hey, I didn't give a damn. My car was parked around the corner ... A blonde girl comes rushing home to her mum and says: "Mummy mummy! Today at school everyone could only count to 3 but I can count to 5. Look - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Does that mean I am special mummy?" "Yes dear it does." The next day the blonde girl comes running in again and says: "Mummy mummy! Today at school everyone could only say the alphabet from A to C but I can go until E. Look - A, B, C, D, E. Does that mean I am special mummy?" "Yes dear it does." The next day the blonde girl comes rushing home and says "Mummy mummy! Today at school we were getting changed for physical excercises and all the other girls had really flat chests but I had these ...!" She opens her blouse and reveals a humungous pair of DD breasts. "Is it because I am special mummy?" "No dear it's because you are 25." A blonde desperately needed some money, so she decided to kidnap someone. So she went to the park and she grabbed this kid. Then she wrote a note saying, "If you ever want to see your child again, leave 10,000 dollars in a paper bag in the northwest corner of the park." then she signed it 'THE BLONDE' and told the kid to give it to his mom. The next day she went to the northwest corner of the park and got the paper bag. It had the money in it and a note from the mother that said, "How could you do this to another blonde?" Two blondes were walking through the woods and they came to some tracks. The first blonde said "These look like deer tracks." and the other one said: "No they look like moose tracks." They argued and argued for a while and they were still arguing when the train hit them. I knew a blonde that was so stupid that....... * she called me to get my phone number. * she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice box because it said "concentrate." * she put lipstick on her forehead because she wanted to make up her mind. *she tried to put M&M's in alphabetical order. *she sent me a fax with a stamp on it. *she tried to drown a fish. *she thought a quarterback was a refund. *she got locked in a grocery store and starved to death. *she tripped over a cordless phone. *she took a ruler to bed to see how long she slept. *she asked for a price check at the Dollar Store. *she studied for a blood test. *she thought Meow Mix was a CD for cats. *when she heard that 90% of all crimes occur around the home, she moved. *when she missed the 44 bus, she took the 22 bus twice instead. *when she took you to the airport and saw a sign that said "Airport Left" she turned around and went home ~~~~ Couldn't learn to water ski because she couldn't find a lake with a slope. Got excited because she finished a jigsaw puzzle in 6 months and the box said "2 to 4 years" Couldn't call 911 because there was no 11 on any phone button. When asked what the capital of California was; answered "C". Baked a turkey for 3 days because the instructions said 1 hour per pound and she weighed 125. After losing in a breaststroke swimming competition, complained that the other swimmers were using their arms. A Blonde's Year in Review January: Took new scarf back to store because it was too tight. February: Fired from pharmacy job for failing to print labels...Helllloooo!!!... bottles won't fit in typewriter!!! March: Got really excited - finished jigsaw puzzle in 6 months... August: Got locked out of my car in rain storm... Car swamped because soft-top was o pen. September: The capital of California is "C"... isn't it? October: I hate M &M's... They are so hard to peel. Star if u like them!!!!
did u hear about the accident in HUNTSVILLE, Ala.??? The bus went to the side, and I guess it went over," she said. "When it was falling ... I was just glad when it hit the ground." It struck the ground nose-first, about 30 feet below the I-565 overpass. Two teenage girls died in the wreckage; a third died later at a hospital. "They were falling on each other. People were screaming, yelling, crying," said Jefferson, 16, who suffered fractures to her left arm and cuts and bruises to her face. More than 30 Lee High School students and the bus driver were taken to Huntsville Hospital, which became a hectic trauma center Monday with emergency physicians and staff called in to help as ambulances brought in the severely injured. Five people, including the bus driver, had undergone surgery, a hospital spokeswoman said. Police said the bus, taking students to classes at a downtown tech center, swerved on the overpass, plowed through a concrete barrier and plunged to the street below. Police Chief Rex Reynolds said an orange Toyota Celica driven by another Lee High student apparently came close to or struck the bus, causing it to swerve. He declined to say whether charges would be filed. Students on the bus, which was not equipped with seat belts, were screaming when rescue workers arrived. "They were thrown all over the bus," said Huntsville Fire Chief Dusty Underwood. Some had to be extracted from the crumpled front of the bus, he said. School Bus Safety The police chief identified the high school students who died at the scene as Christina Collier, 18, and Nicole Ford, 17. A third, Tanesha Hill, 17, died at the hospital from her injuries, Huntsville Hospital CEO David Spillers said. Some parents were called to the scene by wailing children on cell phones. Many were angered that police held them back or had no information. At the hospital, some collapsed in tears amid more confusion. Hospital officials said the horror of the wreck was compounded by the inability of hospital staff to identify some of the more severely injured students who were unable to talk and had no identification on them. The police chief said the driver and a passenger in the Celica went to a hospital following the crash, but he was not aware if they were treated for injuries. He said the driver was interviewed by police. The bus driver was in critical condition, said Brooke Thorington, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Education. "This is a heartbreaking tragedy," said Gov. Bob Riley in a statement in Montgomery. The National Transportation Safety Board, which was to investigate the wreck, has said that school buses are designed to protect occupants without the use of seat belts. A new design uses strong, well-padded, high-backed seats, closely spaced together, the NTSB has said. However, NTSB board member Debbie Hersman said at a news conference Monday night that the board last week added school bus safety to its list of most wanted transportation safety improvements. She said the board is recommending that new standards be devised to improve safety when buses are involved in rollover crashes.

Airline Cabin Announcements? All too rarely, airline attendants make an effort to make the in flight "safety lecture" and announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported: 1. On a Southwest flight 245 (SW has no assigned seating, you just sit where you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when a flight attendant announced, "People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and get in it!" 2. On a Continental Flight with a very "senior" flight attendant crew, the pilot said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants." 3. On landing, the stewardess said, "Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you're going to leave anything, please make sure it's something we'd like to have. 4. "There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane" 5. "Thank you for flying Delta Business Express. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride." 6. As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Ronald Reagan, a lone voice came over the loudspeaker: "Whoa, big fella. WHOA!" 7. After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in Memphis, a flight attendant on a Northwest flight a announced, "Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell everything has shifted." 8. From a Southwest Airlines employee: "Welcome aboard Southwest Flight 245 to Tampa . To operate your seat belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised." 9. "In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with more than one small child, pick your favorite." 10. "As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses." 12. And from the pilot during his welcome message: "Delta Airlines is pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this flight!"
Do you like my short story? Ellie lived on the street, she was poor and cold, she would beg, trying to keep herself alive. One day as she was awakened at the crack of dawn by the screeching of car brakes, instantly followed by a loud THUMP, two cars had collided; this made Ellie curious to see if there were any survivors, one of the cars just drove off, away from the site. Ellie crossed the road, and ran straight for the accident area. There was smoke everywhere, almost blinded she looked in the remaining car and found a young couple. Ellie tried to rip the door open but it would not budge. She tried again but still no results. She then smashed out the remaining glass in the window and dragged the man out of the vehicle. She quickly checked if he was okay, the man was breathing and had a severe injury to the head and suffered a broken leg. Ellie helped the man lie down and rest. She noticed that there was a leek in the gas tank and ran around to the passenger’s side were she found that a woman was breathing but only just, struggling to reach the woman Ellie received a nasty cut in her wrist but she continued to try to save the woman. She reached in just enough to grab the woman’s arm and dragged her out of the window of the car. Ellie quickly lay her down, she checked if there was a pulse and there was one but it was dangerously low. All of a sudden the car burst into flames, Ellie had forgotten about the leek. She ran over to the woman and tried to carry her but it was no use, she was too heavy. “I will help” said the man, he limped over to Ellie and his injured girlfriend, he grabbed hold of her legs and Ellie held her shoulders. As fast as they could they carried the woman to safety. The man collapsed at Ellie’s feet, she didn’t know what to do but to run and find a doctor. She ran and ran, not looking back, not once, she just kept running. Ellie finally found a telephone booth and luckily there was some change left in the change dispenser. She put in the change and called 000. Ellie asked for an ambulance and ran back to the crash site. The ambulance arrived soon after to pick them both up. The man said thank you to Ellie as he hopped into the ambulance, and drove off without another sound. Approximately 3 weeks later Ellie was sitting on the curb of Milner’s Road and a man went past on crutches, Ellie thought she recognized him; it was the very man who she saved from the car crash. Ellie chased after the man and asked him if he and his girlfriend were okay. He looked distraught; Ellie could tell by the look on his face that something was wrong. The man said in a slow and emotionless voice that she had passed away in the hospital. Ellie suddenly froze as the words “passed away” circled in her mind. The man kept walking so Ellie Left him alone. For the next few years Ellie didn’t hear of from the man again. 3 years and 6 months after the accident Ellie had found a job and had moved in with a friend. On Ellie’s birthday she went clubbing, she entered the club, sat down at the bar, she noticed it was particularly dark tonight in the pub and she couldn’t see her own hand in front of her. Anyway she ordered a beer and the man who was sitting next to her introduced himself, his name was James Blind. Ellie and James had quite along conversation about their lives and then when James said about 3 years ago I was in a car crash with my girlfriend………Suddenly Ellie realized that she new him, he was the guy that she saved. They exchanged phone numbers and left. 18 months later they were married and had 2 lovely children, Josie and Lauren. The End (written by Jenn Walter)
