What age is acceptable to remove child safety gates on stairs? My daughter is 3 years old and stays with her grandparents one night a month. They have a very tall staircase that has wood, no carpeting, and her room is upstairs, while they sleep downstairs. My mother thinks our daughter is old enough to not use the gate at the top of the stairs any longer, but my husband and I are concerned that she's still a little wobbly (especially after just having woken up) and there is a danger there. I've looked online for any info but would like some feedback from others who might have a similar situation. The thought of her falling scares me to death. How do you know when a child is old enough not to need safety gates?

Why are your children online? I run a couple of sites and I get children that email me "Hi my name is Sara and I'm twelve" AUUUGG!!! I always give them a lecture about Internet safety but it really concerns me. I tell my friends that when they are comfortable letting their child walk downtown alone at midnight, then it's Ok for them to go on the Internet. Please explain to me why they are even on the Internet at all? Couldn't you buy CDs for them? Why do they need to be on the Internet?
Spiritually Speaking, what child under age 10 needs to come online? What does a child have to do online under age 10, 3rd grade or under, that they need to do? Are they on message boards? Are they in chat rooms? Are they getting into things they shouldn't? Do you allow your child to succomb to "Satan" by entering the Internet? Apparently some people think it's okay for kids to be on the Internet, but do you honestly think the Parent Safety features are blocking unwanted content? I have kids in high school who get around blocked sites by going to an alternate site and re-typing in the address to the blocked sites to get around it. Do you think your own child is not doing that as well? Are you able to keep up with them? Or will Jesus save them?
How safe is a crib tent? Can't find anything online about safety of a crib tent? ? My 15 mo. old grandson has climbed out of his crib. He wasn't hurt...this time. His parents are considering a crib tent since they feel he may be too young for a toddler bed. His crib is the combo kind that makes into a toddler bed, then full size bed. The rails in front are lower than the back, so we are concerned the crib tent may not work. I have not found any thing online that the tents are unsafe with the exception of one reviewer on babycenter.com who said a friends child was hurt seriously with one. I can't find anything else but the crib tent to help keep a child in the crib. Serious answers please.

where to go online to report a daycare? My child was going to a local daycare and I pulled her out due to safety issues.I need to know where to go online or who to call to report an issue with this daycare.
How can people help catch child predators in chat rooms? I know this is the job for the police but we know they can't do it all and there's too many child predators or pedophiles on the Internet and too many children being abducted. We also know there are some parents who fail to talk to their children about Internet safety and fail to put in softwares that help record Internet activities and so forth.... we also know that children will lie to their parents about what they're doing online. Child predators really need to be dealt with because of those reasons. I've read that one can get into trouble if you go in a chat room and pretend to be a young child when you're not. I don't see why. There must be something else that can be done. If I do enter a chat room and pretend to be a young child and I want to be anonymous when reporting this pedophile, is that possible? Is it possible to be anonymous and not involved at all once the report is in?
What would you do if your child (22) went to meet someone online in another state? My sister met a guy online we live in TX and he lives in CA. My sister is 22 goes to college and lives at home. She has a job but pays for college through, student loans that dont have to be paid back if she graduates with a 3.0 GPA As a PARENT how would you feel
Can't make a Google Account? For some weird reason I can't make a Google Account. I fill in all of the information, my desired password/username, and the security word to see I'm a human. When I click "I agree to the Terms mentioned above" or of that sort, it says "In order to have a Google Account, you must meet certain age requirements. To learn more about online child safety, visit the Federal Trade Commission's website." I'm clearly passed 13 years old! My birthday is in 1993! I'm 17! So to try to fix this I even used a fake birthday date. Like 1960 and it still wouldn't work! Any reason why this is happening?
Gmail won't let me sign up because of "age requirements", but I'm 20!? Okay, I'm 20 and I wanted to sign up for Gmail. I put my correct birthday on the sign-up page, but after I finished, it redirected me to a page that said: Google could not create your account In order to have a Google Account, you must meet certain age requirements. To learn more about online child safety, visit the Federal Trade Commission's website. (http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/privacyinitiatives/childrens.html) So I went back and said I was 22 years old, and it still took me to that page!! How old do you need to be to sign up for Gmail? 239840823????

What is the safest car seat to use after a child outgrows his infant seat? My seven week old is almost 15 pounds and I am trying to think ahead for my next carseat purchase. I tried checking consumer reports online but I couldnt find an answer. He is currently using the Graco Snugride ( which we purchased because of its safety rank) but I know that he can only use that til he is 22 pounds. Does anyone know which carseats are the safest for the next step?
Please correct this essay, title is "On-line Child Health Information System"? The issues on the emotional, physical, and behavioral aspects of the child are very important such as obesity, smoking, car safety seats, infections, depression and teen suicide, vaccine, sports, illness, nutrition advice, injury prevention. It is important that child and parents can get information to help them to handle these issues. This research develops an on-line child health information web, providing proper information of child health for child and parents in order to help the child to get rid of the health problem. Three steps are used for developing child health information system (1) assessment of the needs of the child and parent , (2) development of the web-based learning platform by system analysis, system design and information management in SQL sever database, (3) online questionnaires are used to get the information of the needs of the user. We have established a web-based system providing integrated accurate and reliable multimedia health information in child health.
Do you think its right to spy on your child? Does your child have private internet access? The Victims' Champion called for adults to install monitoring software on computers used by youngsters, and she admitted she checks up on her own children. "It's like being stalked," she said. "It's harassment. As an adult, it's seen as all those things. But for some reason when we put it with children and put the word bullying to it, it's something which can be brushed over. Since the death of her daughter Sarah at the hands of paedophile Roy Whiting in 2000, Mrs Payne has become a prominent campaigner for victims' rights. Mrs Payne, who took up her Government-appointed post at the end of January, made her comments as she launched Real Radio's Websafe campaign. According to a survey by the network of regional stations, a fifth of schoolchildren admit they have given personal information to someone they have never met. The poll of 3,680 children aged 11 to 15 also found 16% had agreed to meet a stranger after chatting on the internet. The research showed 61% of teenagers could access the internet in their bedrooms, with almost half (45%) of parents never checking on their children's online activities. Mrs Payne defended "spying" on children for their own safety. "I'm not sorry or apologising for being involved in my children's lives," she said. "You just have to tell them - yes, you can have the internet, but this software will be on there and I will check at some point and if you don't stick to these rules, the internet goes. You're the parent, they're the child and, quite frankly, there's nothing wrong with that." http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20091116/tuk-parents-should-spy-on-kids-online-6323e80.html
My child has a life threatening peanut allergy- do I need an IEP or a 504 Plan for her when she starts school? Can someone please explain which is preferred for a food allergy? She does not have any other "disabilities" other than the peanut allergy. I'm meeting with the principal soon and would like to know what I'm talking about and which will best ensure her safety at school. There is a lot of info online, but I'd prefer if someone could explain it in layman's terms. Thank you very much.
Where do you find car seat safety ratings? (please read)? I read online to go to http://www.nhtsa.gov/ BUT It said to click on "child seat ratings" and I could not find that stupid button!!! Are pitbulls good with kids? What do you think about this finding? this is the answer i found on www.pitbulllovers.com Can pit bulls be safe with kids? In a word, yes. Pit Bulls can be safe with kids. As an owner of two female pit bulls I am aware that having them around kids is a big responsibility. And not for the reasons you may be thinking. I am not worried my dogs will attack a child. Not in the least, what I am worried about is the situation itself can lead to many problems. Let me explain... Say for example a young kid, we'll say 8 years old is playing with one of my dogs. My dogs being active pit bulls that love to play can get quite excited. What happens when one of my dogs knocks the child over or trips them and they scrape their arm? Odds are their parents are not going to be happy, even when I asked for okay to let their kid play with my dog. They might understand it was an accident, but that doesn't' change the fact that a pit bull hurt a kid. How do I know they haven't recently read some articles of pit bull attacks? I don't. And neither do you. Pit Bulls can be safe with kids under the correct conditions. Here's a few tips to keep in mind when having your dog around children. Five Tips to keep your Pit Bull and children safe while playing together 1) Always supervise interaction pit bulls and kids NEVER leave a child alone with a dog. This goes for any dog. Even if it's a puppy. This is for both the child's and the dogs safety. If you read through articles of pit bull attacks online where children were hurt, maimed or worse, killed by a Pit Bull you will notice that in 99% of the cases they were left alone with the dog or dogs involved. This should be a rule rather than a tip. Use common sense and care. Small children especially should never be unsupervised around dogs. 2) Watch the child's behaviour Watch the children's behaviour. This tip is more for the dogs safety than the child's. Children can be brutal and even in the face of such harsh treatment, well bred, responsibly owned Pit Bulls are not prone to biting or "attacking" in defense. Make sure every child that plays with your dog understands how to behave around them. They should know to respect your dog and it's space and other things like toys, food, water, or their special bed. 3) Make sure all your dogs prized items are put away Ah, nothing like a kid running around with a dried bully stick in their hands. lol. Not only is this nasty, your dog will want their bully stick back and attempt to get it. And in the process they could nip a finger or two. Put all your dogs favorite toys and treats away and where children can't get a hold of them to be on the safe side. To clarify, it wouldn't' be out of malice or viciousness the dog would get a finger or two. It would be by accident, an accident that can easily be avoided by putting such things away. 4) Start taking Obedience classes If you're not already training your dog in basic obedience. Start as soon as possible. Having an obedient Pit Bull will help when kids are around. Not to mention adults as well. Teaching your dog to sit so they can be pet, laying down when things get a bit to rowdy, or to do a silly trick to lighten the tension of an over cautious parent is always a great idea. :o) 5) Never Force your dog into a situation that makes them uncomfortable Some dogs simply get weird around certain people. Don't force the issue and make your dog say "hello" or play with someone they are showing signs of apprehension around. However, I have seen very few Pit Bulls get weird around people. Almost none now that I think about it. Since they are extremely people oriented it is quite rare to see them become skittish. However it does happen, so be aware of how your dog is reacting to people and if they do get weird, take them somewhere quiet they can hang out or continue on with your walk. In Conclusion Pit Bulls can be safe with kids despite what all the articles of pit bull attacks suggest. Using common sense, watching your dogs behaviour, and keeping an eye on all interactions between kids and your pit bull will go a long way to preventing any possible accidents or problems. And finally, Pit Bulls love kids and the two make a perfect combination. High energy wired up kid + high energy wired up Pit Bull = loads of fun and laughter for all involved. :o) Hehe, I posted this to put this info out there and see what people say. Well, I guess its impossible to get people to change their minds even with infomation like this. any dog shouldn't be left alone with a kid. if that dog isn't trained or reliable. I woulndn't let my lab mix alone because he will jump on the kid and knock them down. my chihuahua would actually be the one growling and biting! and actually my first bite was not from one of the pits i have interacted with, but from a chihuahua mix! it actually held on! That hurt i have the scars to prove it. anyways, yes i would trust a pit that was trained with my future kids. because from my experience, I have known some street pit mixes in Mexico who i treated with kindness and they repaid me with loyalty and protection. they actually escorted me to my destinations. I trust those pits with my life so of course i would trust them to protect my family. pitbulls are the most protective dog breed. Who wouldn't want that Also, I have seen a golden retriever get aggressive. Who would expect that?? But Its the truth. I definately would trust that Golden Retriever with a kid just because it is aggressive as a result of irresponsible owners who didn't take the time to give it love and proper care. Does that mean all Goldens are like that? of course not. It seems that this logic is easier to take in about Goldens than it is to take in about Pits even though its the same infomation. and I think that is funny. Sometimes it would anger me because it made me sad that people could hate pits the way they do. Without actually interacting with a stable one. But most times i think its funny that people can be soo......haha wells, yes. I have a dobie puppy. ^_^ and I will train him the best i can with help from obidenence classes..To rub it in the face of any Doberman haters out there. I hope to in the future have my own pitbull when im older and do some threapy work with it. That will show you doubters. yes. there are pitbull THERAPY DOGS, SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS, DRUG SNIFFING DOGS, HEROES, SERVICE DOGS...out there!! let me find the site again and i will show you! Now you tell me that those good RECOGNIZED dogs will tear the face of a little kid.
Where can I find an accorion-style safety gate? When I was a little girl, my parents had a gate that blocked me and my little sister from getting into the laundry room. The gate was mounted to the wall on one side of the doorway, and it opend/closed by expanding/contracting like an accordion. It was a wooden gate, and when open, the gate had diamond-shaped "holes" in it. I've tried searching for accorion gates online, and all I come up with are sites talking about how they're dangerous for children and shouldn't be used any more. Well, I don't HAVE any children, so that doesn't matter to me. What I need is a gate that will allow my cat to get into the bathroom to access her litter box but will keep my roommate's dog OUT of the bathroom because he does his business in there on my floor and I'm sick of cleaning it up. The accordian gate is the perfect solution because alothough the dog won't fit through the openings, the cat will. Does anyone know where I can find one of these?
Should the police commit illegal acts in the name of public safety? It is normal procedure in the US to provide a 20 year old person (considered a juvenile in the US relative to alcohol consumption) a false ID in order to trap unwitting clerks into selling them alcohol. Two laws were broken here...(1) providing and possessing a false ID, and (2) aiding a juvenile in order to buy alcohol. Do you think this an ethical practice? It is also normal procedure for US police to put a police woman on the street in order to solicit for prostitution (illegal), then arrest the man for soliciting a prostitute. Do you think this is moral, or do you think it's entrapment? I also have suspected that the police post child pornography online with the hopes that pedophiles come forward in order to trade with them. I have no concrete proof of this, but highly suspect it. This is an illegal act in itself. Can you condone this type of behavior in the name of public safety?

Can the environment really be saved? Shouldn't we drill more US oil? A new coal power plant goes online every other week in India or China. Things are going to get dramatically worse before they get any better, if they get better at all. Getting those 1.8 trillion barrels from under the Rockies would instantly propel us to our post WW2 stature, maybe even higher. Any suggestions for a safe email service for children? I'm looking at setting up an email account for each of my two small kids. However, I'm paranoid about their safety while online or what they receive. Any suggestions on a free service or opinions if Yahoo! Mail will work. Or any advice on what to look out for.
Are your children safe online? Just a little debate now: Do you think that we would be better off if social networking sites would have never been invented? Take into consideration things such as safety, and on the other hand, the positive side of them, like being able to socialise. Thank you.
am I the only person that bought a cheap microwave??? holiday from lowes? it stuck on child safety, cant find manual online lowes stopped selling them, im getting ready to throw it in the trash. Is Facebook any more dangerous than other networking sites because it hasn't got a panic button? The social network - the most popular in the world - has been criticised for defying calls to add a specialist link to a panic button to every page. The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop), wants the button, which enables users to report abuse, to be given prominent use. Last week, Mr Gamble, who leads CEOP revealed Facebook has never passed a concern to British police and that complaints about the site are spiralling. Last month schoolgirl Ashleigh Hall was murdered after a serial rapist made contact with her through Facebook. Mr Gamble said the Facebook negotiators were travelling back to the company's California base to discuss their next move. A few questions: Do you think a panic button would stop internet groomers? Presumably the point is that the victim doesn't know they are being groomed. Can all reports of grooming be investigated thoroughly? Is half the problem that youngsters are revealing too much personal information, including their school, address and photographs, thus making stalking easy? Should parents not be responsible for their children's online activities rather than the websites themselves? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/facebook/7584109/Facebook-must-turn-words-into-action-and-install-panic-button-says-child-safety-chief.html
Do you think paernts should have complete access to a childs cell phone? My daughter is 13. She got her first cell phone last Christmas at 12 1/2. Within a month she was the victim of sexting. I had a talk with her. We blocked the boy that was doing the offense. I am worried now because she has way more 'friends' now and seems to give out her number to just about anyone she meets. I don't know these people. She might meet them at a football game when she is with her girlfriends. I find out later the number might belong to boys 5-8 years older than she is. Anyway, I think that if a phone is purchased by a parent for a child, online we should be able to monitor what is going on with it. I feel it is not an invasion of privacy because we are talking about children and their safety is #1. I think this should be a free service for parents and we shouldnt have to buy a monitoring system for $10 a month to help keep our kids safe. Or buy a gadget to read the sim card for $200. Does anyone feel the same? Or completely disagree?
Infant Car Seat Safety Standards? I'm pregnant with my first child, and recently purchased a travel system for my unborn baby. I bought the Graco Infant Safeseat, because I had heard and read alot of good reviews about it online. But then today I saw on the news that the seat didnt pass all safety test for the government standards, along with many other name brand seats. Did anyone else see this? What is your opinion? I want my child to be the safest possible. Has anyone else used this infant seat?

Front facing car seats, old vs. new.? I have a 14 month old that's ready for a front facing car seat. I didn't think about it until recently, but it's an older one where there's a kind of handle bar thing that comes down over the head and fastens in front of the stomach/ chest of the child. I started looking online today and I don't see any of these car seats being sold. Are they still safe? Or are they no longer considered safe after all the new child safety seat laws? Any answer will be appreciated.

What's the best walk-behind-toy for a toddler? I've looked at a few different ones online, but can't tell how stable they are. A couple of product reviews suggest certain ones flip over when the child's weight isn't perfectly centered. Which learn-to-walk toys have you been happy with in terms of safety, stability, and fun for the child? Thank you.
What is the best way to get a teenager offline? What is the best way to get a teenager offline?Especially,Whenever all of their friends are always online chatting, etc? I mean I have nothing against the internet itself. Please don't get me wrong. But I don't think it is good for kids to be sitting in front of computers, constantly! They need exercise! And I also do not think it is safe.I believe we have to monitor their activities as parents.I am having a hard time with my daughter because all of her friends are online constantly. And I do not believe that she should be.So,I try to talk her into doing other activities! And yes I spy on what she is doing(for her own safety!).And I can't believe what some of her friends have messaged&sent her!How can you confront your child about this?Whenever all of their friends have no rules? And also without seeming to controlling? I am just trying to be a good mother, honestly. But this computer is making it hard! I do believe that they need computers for school! But some are using them for all the wrong Reasons! And I don't even think their parents even know what they are up too! Please,I'd like to hear from parents and adults about this! And perhaps even mature teens! Thanks~! I'm sorry my oldest is only 12 (soon to be 13!) And my youngest is only 8! Sorry,I should have told you all that! They are not as old as some of you are!I can see if you are 17,18,19 etc..You are practically an adult!I've been on my own since 15!No parents! So I can understand if you are older!
Google is not letting me create an account? I'm getting a bit frustrated. Every time I try to create a Google account for youtube it says: Google could not create your account In order to have a Google Account, you must meet certain age requirements. To learn more about online child safety, visit the Federal Trade Commission's website. No, I am not under 13! Why does it keep doing this?? I have the problem on google.com too.
can any one give me and outline of the health and safety act 1997? i have tried looking it up but im not very good at finding what i want online i i really need it for a part of one of the question in my child care assignment thank you so much
How can my parents secure the french doors leading to their pool? I'm looking for a non-permanent way to secure the french doors in my parents' home. I have an almost-4-year-old daughter and the lack of safety leading to the pool deck concerns me when we visit my parents. Until recently they've always had sliding patio doors that had a security pin at the top; my daughter couldn't open the door by herself. They recently had french doors installed and there is nothing but a simple deadbolt standing between my daughter and the pool...she can easily unlock a deadbolt. My mother doesn't want to install any sort of safety latch that will require her to drill into her new doors. I think she's being ridiculous and the lack of safety makes me nervous. I've looked online for french door safety locks but the only thing I've really found is a child safety device but it requires disassembling the door handle/lock to install. I don't think my parents will go for this. I'm looking for some sort of alternative so I can assure my daughter's safety without starting WWIII with my parents over this issue (obviously I will insist on them installing a safety device if I can't find another solution). We don't visit my parents often so I hate to create a war making them install a device that they'll have to deal with everyday just to accommodate our occasional visits. I agree that installing a safety lock should be a no-brainer for them but they are who they are and I'm just trying to find a way to keep my daughter safe despite their lack of concern. They are lever handles. They don't care about the lack of home security involved...they live in the middle of nowhere and leave their doors unlocked half the time anyway.
Does anyone know where to find this commercial from the '80s or '90s - "buckle me into my safety seat"? There was an old educational commercial from the '80s or '90s about the importance of safety seats for children. Here are the lyrics (more or less): "Hey momma, momma! Hey dadda, dadda! Buckle into my safety seat, my safety seat. Watchin' the world in my safety seat! When we go for a ride in the car, car, car! When we wanna go near or far, far, far! We'll be safe when we ride in the car!" I can hear the jingle so clearly in my head, but I can't find it anywhere online. This is really surprising to me and it hurts me so. If anyone can help, I would truly appreciate it!

Parents you need to know this? February 3, 2009 (RALEIGH, N.C.) -- About 90,000 sex offenders have been identified and removed from the social networking Web site MySpace, company and law enforcement officials said Tuesday. The number was nearly double what MySpace officials originally estimated last year, said North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper, who along with Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has led efforts to make social networking Web sites safer for young users. Cooper said he wasn't surprised by the updated numbers, and demanded that MySpace and rival online networking site Facebook -- which claim to have more than 280 million users combined -- do more to protect children and teenagers. "These sites were created for young people to communicate with each other. Predators are going to troll in these areas where they know children are going to be," Cooper said. "That's why these social networking sites have the responsibility to make their sites safe for children." "That's why these social networking sites have the responsibility to make their sites safe for children." Story continues below Advertisement The attorneys general received agreements last year from MySpace and Facebook to push toward making their sites safer. Both sites implemented dozens of safeguards, including finding better ways to verify user's ages, banning convicted sex offenders from using the sites and limiting the ability of older users to search members under 18. Blumenthal, who received MySpace's updated numbers Tuesday through a subpoena, said the information "provides compelling proof that social networking sites remain rife with sexual predators." A preliminary number of sex offenders found on Facebook was "substantial," but he said the company has yet to respond to a recent subpoena. MySpace executives said they were confident in the technology they use to find, remove and block registered sex offenders. The company uses Sentinel SAFE, a database it created in 2006 with the names, physical descriptions and other identifiable characteristics of sex offenders that cross-references against MySpace members. "Sentinel SAFE is the best industry solution to ensure these offenders are removed from social networks," Hemanshu Nigam, the company's chief security officer, said in a statement Tuesday. MySpace, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., has more than 130 million active users worldwide. A spokesman for Facebook, which claims more than 150 million active users, said Tuesday that protecting its users has always been a priority. "We have a policy prohibiting registered sex offenders from joining Facebook," said spokesman Barry Schnitt. "We are glad to be able to report that we have not yet had to handle a case of a registered sex offender meeting a minor through Facebook. We are working hard to make sure it never happens." Still, Cooper said more should be done. "Technology moves forward quickly, and it's important for these companies to stay ahead of the technology," he said. "And they're not moving fast enough for us." The push for better restrictions came during a time when social-networking Web sites were seeing exponential growth, with most of it coming in the form of younger users. But along with the younger members came sexual predators who would lie about their age to lure young victims. Blumenthal and Cooper, who co-chair the State Attorney General Task Force on Social Networking, have led the charge for tougher restrictions to be placed on who joins online social-networking sites. The Internet Safety Technical Task Force report, commissioned by the attorneys general in 2008, researched ways to help squash the onslaught of sexual predators targeting younger social-networking clients. Enhancing Child Safety & Online Technologies, a report by the task force submitted to attorneys general in December, noted was no surefire way to guarantee online child safety. The task force also played down fears of Internet sexual predators who target children on social-networking sites. While citing other da

Are You Cautious About Putting Photo's Of Your Family Online?? I am. I do have a couple of photo's of my boys (not recent ones) and one of my hubby (because he is HOT!!), oh and my fat pregnant belly lol. But I don't like sending picture via email or posting too many online. My sister (in-law) had photo's ripped off by a fraud asking for money awhile ago(she has 6 daughters, two sets of fraternal twins). It was unreal! I couldn't believe that someone would do that. Scary... Do you take precautions about the safety of your photo's online?????? Scares me stupid, that someone may try and get money from MY children!!
Where is a good place to order some personalized gifts for children? My younger two children were adopted from overseas. We did not change their names. My daughter's name can be found on little personalized things (keychains, pencils, etc) found in gift stores. But my son's name cannot and he feels sad about that sometimes. For Christmas, I would like to order him some personalized things. Not backpacks or jackets because of the safety issue, but something for his room or some pencils for school, etc. Does anyone know of a good website to order online?
Do you think those vinyl stickers on cars pose a safety risk for children? I was following a blue minivan the other day that had one of those vinyl stickers on the rear window that had the name of a local kids' soccer organization, a soccer ball, and the name "MADDIE #6" under it. Basically, this parent was advertising that they have a school-aged daughter who plays on the soccer team and wears number 6, and gave out her name. This is the exact kind of information that parents tell their kids not to share with strangers on the internet, but here they are telling the whole local area. This same organization posts its game information online. Anyone can find out where they play. Someone could approach little #6 and say, "Hi Maddie! Don't you remember me? I'm a friend of your mom's. I drive a blue minivan just like hers. She said you might want to meet my dog, she's in the car, come on." If I had kids their names would never go on my car, nor would any other identifiers like sports teams or jersey numbers. Is this too much risk?
Can i put a password on my childrens laptops to monitor internet use? I got my three children a laptop each for Christmas and they can access the internet via my wireless router. Is it possible to put a password on each laptop to monitor the amount of time they spend online? I don't want them to be able to sit upstairs for hours on the net as i am worried about internet security and safety. Many thanks Gail.
school shootings--whether students should attend public schools or not? The Virginia Tech Massacre is probably one of the deadliest school shootings ever in history, other than the school shooting in texas back in 1966. However, I've been going online and reading that there have been approximatly 42 school shootings all across the United states, and about 20 or more school shootings all across the globe. There even was a school massacre in Franklin County, Pennsylvania (Enoch Brown School) around July 26, 1764. Yes, each and every school does encounter on fire drills, lock downs, building security drills, and has made extremely strict rules of bringing in guns, weapons, or illegal substances like marijuana. But as my belief, parents are so concern for their safety that they rather home school them or take them to private schools which cost a fortune. Even though it's the law to have children in school, would home-schooling be an answer to keep parents worried free about their child's safety? darn...I almost forgot...no dissing answers or I will report you. Thanks.
Where can I get help?I need a good car to drive and a babysitter for my kid.? I got my job in late March this year. My grandmother has been helping by watching my four year old daughter and giving me rides to and from work and the store. But recently doctors noticed a lump in one of her lungs and are now talking about sending her to get radiation over 2 hours away. I am barely "getting by" with what I am currently earning. I have to turn to my family for basic things such as shoes for my daughter. My ex isn't helpful at all. I am looking into getting child support, but I know I wouldn't get much from him and there are safety concerns if he gets more rights to our daughter. I do not see any better job openings in my area and I have talked to my boss. She won't be able to help me as much as I need. I was hoping that as a single mother and an online college student I may qualify for some kind of assistance. Does anyone know where I should look? I have already contacted Human Services. They weren't helpful. I live in North East Texas.
I need help and legal advice for child custody issue in the Philippines? I have a very beautiful daughter in the Philippines, she is 3 years old. Her mom constantly uses her to get money from me. I send her $300 monthly, but almost always she comes back and asks for more. When I can't give it she waits a day or two then tells me that our daughter is sick or has a fever and was rushed to the hospital. I'm still married to her mom, who also tried to put me on child support despite the fact we're still married and I send money. This woman on occasion has threatened my life and safety of my family. She even sent a "friend" over to my house who she met online. I have txt msgs where she claims to have given my daughter away and even a few where she claims my daughter died, according to her my daughter died twice. My wife "died" once before as well. I would like to get custody of my daughter if possible. I've only seen my daughter once, I very much want to be in every aspect of her life not just financially.
Should minors (under age 18) be allowed to have a Myspace Account? I need your opinion if minors should be allowed to have a Myspace Account. Because of safety and security reasons and criminal activity happening in the news most recently (online explotation, child molestation, etc.), I agree that minors under the age of 18 to have one of those. Do you agree or disagree with minors never having a Myspace account and why?
What breed of dog is good with small children (infants)? My wife and I are looking to add another member to our family by way of a dog. We've been doing some research online as well as in books, but I thought I would get some opinions from others on yahoo answers. We currently have a 4 1/2 month old baby girl and are most concerned about her safety when it comes to picking out a dog. We are looking for a medium to larger breed of dog. Any advice on what breeds might be a wise and safe choice?
How careful are you with regard to online Stranger Danger where your children are concerned? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7046986.stm Are we being careful enough, and are we vigilant enough about informing our children of the possible danger these 'people' may pose to them ? What do you do to ensure your childs safety and awareness of the potential dangers ?. Glamour... sorry, I hope you haven't misunderstood my question, it's not what the children do that is bad as they are not at fault these young children are naive and easily influenced by the contacts made on these particular sites, some of them pretend to be children themselves to gain the confidence of children. I have made my young lad (nearly 13) aware of all the potential dangers of strangers on the internet. In these circumstances I would never ever blame the child or young adult of any wrongdoing.
What is the summary of this text? I don't speak in english very well so i would like a summary of this text TORONTO - Young drivers in Ontario bristled yesterday at a proposed law that would usher in some of the toughest restrictions in the country, including barring new motorists 19 and under from driving with more than one of their teenage friends at a time. While Premier Dalton McGuinty called the legislation a "modest restriction'' on the freedoms of young people and safe-driving advocates lauded the move, it raised the ire of many youth. Thousands of them took to Facebook to air their grievances online. Concerns about the environmental effects of no longer carpooling, and questions about just how designated drivers would get their friends home, abounded. At a downtown Toronto high school, Alex Popescu, 17, said the law, if passed, would mean he wouldn't be able to bring his friend and girlfriend to a party and thinks that's age discrimination. "I passed my test just like any other person,'' Popescu said. "I did good and I think I deserve to be able to drive with anybody I want.'' The bill, introduced in the Ontario legislature yesterday, included a zero blood-alcohol limit for drivers aged 21 and under and escalating sanctions for young drivers who speed, starting with a 30-day licence suspension. New Brunswick passed legislation with a zero tolerance for alcohol for drivers 21 and under earlier this year, while Manitoba and Nova Scotia have similar no alcohol rules for the first five years for all new drivers, regardless of age. Ontario's proposed legislation was praised by the provincial police, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Canadian Automobile Association and Tim Mulcahy, whose son and two young friends died in a crash this past summer after they had been drinking. The law would also see drivers between 16 and 19 would limited to having only one passenger 19 or under in the vehicle during their first year of driving. McGuinty conceded that could mean three 19-year-old adults could not go to a movie - or church - in the same car. The government said there would be special passenger rules for siblings. "Perhaps the most precious thing we have in society is our children, and that includes our older children,'' McGuinty said. "We owe it to our kids to take the kinds of measures that ensure that they will grow up safe and sound and secure, and if that means a modest restriction on their freedoms until they reach the age of 22, then as a dad, I'm more than prepared to do that.'' Studies show just one teenage passenger with a teen driver doubles the chances of an accident and that risk increases with the addition of every teenage passenger, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Peter Robinson, 18, who created a Facebook group about the legislation, said while he agrees with many parts of the legislation the passenger limits represent "the worst law ever made.'' "Sometimes I have to pick up two or three different teammates to go to a game,'' said Robinson, who plays on sports teams and relies on carpooling. "If I'm not able to do that we may not have the right amount of players to play.'' Passenger limits also raised concerns about designated drivers, but Transportation Minister Jim Bradley said there are several alternatives to having a young person as a designated driver. "I don't think that does discourage it,'' he said. "A lot of people will get someone who's just a bit older to be the designated driver.'' People needing a ride home can call a taxi, take public transit, call a friend or call their parents, Bradley added. It may not be realistic to expect a young person who has been drinking to call their parents instead of riding with friends, Robinson said. One posting on Facebook said the law would "encourage drunk driving!'' "We would need more cars which means more designated drivers. My friends already don't want this job!'' Some young people said that statistics on teen driving unfairly paints them all with the same brush. "They tend to blame teens a lot for the crashes,'' said Mason Kleps, 17. "There are some stupid kids out there, I'm not going to lie, but...not all kids are bad and we do need to drive.'' Some teens also raised environmental concerns about the impact of limiting the number of young people per car. Several online Facebook groups protesting the proposed law sprung up hours before the legislation was even tabled. "How does it make sense to try and teach us about saving gas by carpooling and buying hybrids and things such as that when it is illegal for teenagers to carpool if this passes?'' one person wrote. Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory said he likes the idea of new rules for younger drivers, but worries the restrictions on teenage passengers could be unworkable, especially in rural Ontario. "We want to protect public safety and have stricter conditions under which young people can drive cars,

Is your son or daughter a computer hacker (READ)? As an enlightened, modern parent, I try to be as involved as possible in the lives of my six children. I encourage them to join team sports. I attend their teen parties with them to ensure no drinking or alcohol is on the premises. I keep a fatherly eye on the CDs they listen to and the shows they watch, the company they keep and the books they read. You could say I'm a model parent. My children have never failed to make me proud, and I can say without the slightest embellishment that I have the finest family in the USA. Two years ago, my wife Carol and I decided that our children's education would not be complete without some grounding in modern computers. To this end, we bought our children a brand new Compaq to learn with. The kids had a lot of fun using the handful of application programs we'd bought, such as Adobe's Photoshop and Microsoft's Word, and my wife and I were pleased that our gift was received so well. Our son Peter was most entranced by the device, and became quite a pro at surfing the net. When Peter began to spend whole days on the machine, I became concerned, but Carol advised me to calm down, and that it was only a passing phase. I was content to bow to her experience as a mother, until our youngest daughter, Cindy, charged into the living room one night to blurt out: "Peter is a computer hacker!" As you can imagine, I was amazed. A computer hacker in my own house! I began to monitor my son's habits, to make certain that Cindy wasn't just telling stories, as she is prone to doing at times. After a few days of investigation, and some research into computer hacking, I confronted Peter with the evidence. I'm afraid to say, this was the only time I have ever been truly disappointed in one of my children. We raised them to be honest and to have integrity, and Peter betrayed the principles we tried to encourage in him, when he refused point blank to admit to his activities. His denials continued for hours, and in the end, I was left with no choice but to ban him from using the computer until he is old enough to be responsible for his actions. After going through this ordeal with my own family, I was left pondering how I could best help others in similar situations. I'd gained a lot of knowledge over those few days regarding hackers. It's only right that I provide that information to other parents, in the hope that they will be able to tell if their children are being drawn into the world of hacking. Perhaps other parents will be able to steer their sons back onto the straight and narrow before extreme measures need to be employed. To this end, I have decided to publish the top ten signs that your son is a hacker. I advise any parents to read this list carefully and if their son matches the profile, they should take action. A smart parent will first try to reason with their son, before resorting to groundings, or even spanking. I pride myself that I have never had to spank a child, and I hope this guide will help other parents to put a halt to their son's misbehaviour before a spanking becomes necessary. 1. Has your son asked you to change ISPs? Most American families use trusted and responsible Internet Service Providers, such as AOL. These providers have a strict "No Hacking" policy, and take careful measures to ensure that your internet experience is enjoyable, educational and above all legal. If your child is becoming a hacker, one of his first steps will be to request a change to a more hacker friendly provider. I would advise all parents to refuse this request. One of the reasons your son is interested in switching providers is to get away from AOL's child safety filter. This filter is vital to any parent who wants his son to enjoy the internet without the endangering him through exposure to "adult" content. It is best to stick with the protection AOL provides, rather than using a home-based solution. If your son is becoming a hacker, he will be able to circumvent any home-based measures with surprising ease, using information gleaned from various hacker sites. 2. Are you finding programs on your computer that you don't remember installing? Your son will probably try to install some hacker software. He may attempt to conceal the presence of the software in some way, but you can usually find any new programs by reading through the programs listed under "Install/Remove Programs" in your control panel. Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash". The best option is to confront your son with the evidence, and force him to remove the offending programs. He will probably try to install the software again, but you will be able to tell that this is happening, if your machine offers to "download" one of the hacker applications. If this happens, it is time to give your son a stern talking to, and possibly consider punishing him with a grounding. 3. Has your child asked for new hardware? Computer hackers are often limited by conventional computer hardware. They may request "faster" video cards, and larger hard drives, or even more memory. If your son starts requesting these devices, it is possible that he has a legitimate need. You can best ensure that you are buying legal, trustworthy hardware by only buying replacement parts from your computer's manufacturer. If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him well. 4. Does your child read hacking manuals? If you pay close attention to your son's reading habits, as I do, you will be able to determine a great deal about his opinions and hobbies. Children are at their most impressionable in the teenage years. Any father who has had a seventeen year old daughter attempt to sneak out on a date wearing make up and perfume is well aware of the effect that improper influences can have on inexperienced minds. There are, unfortunately, many hacking manuals available in bookshops today. A few titles to be on the lookout for are: "Snow Crash" and "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson; "Neuromancer" by William Gibson; "Programming with Perl" by Timothy O'Reilly; "Geeks" by Jon Katz; "The Hacker Crackdown" by Bruce Sterling; "Microserfs" by Douglas Coupland; "Hackers" by Steven Levy; and "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" by Eric S. Raymond. If you find any of these hacking manuals in your child's possession, confiscate them immediately. You should also petition local booksellers to remove these titles from their shelves. You may meet with some resistance at first, but even booksellers have to bow to community pressure. 5. How much time does your child spend using the computer each day? If your son spends more than thirty minutes each day on the computer, he may be using it to DOS other peoples sites. DOSing involves gaining access to the "command prompt" on other people's machines, and using it to tie up vital internet services. This can take up to eight hours. If your son is doing this, he is breaking the law, and you should stop him immediately. The safest policy is to limit your children's access to the computer to a maximum of forty-five minutes each day. 6. Does your son use Quake? Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms. Many hackers develop anti-social tendencies due to the use of this virtual world, and it may cause erratic behaviour at home and at school. If your son is using Quake, you should make hime understand that this is not acceptable to you. You should ensure all the firearms in your house are carefully locked away, and have trigger locks installed. You should also bring your concerns to the attention of his school. 7. Is your son becoming argumentative and surly in his social behaviour? As a child enters the electronic world of hacking, he may become disaffected with the real world. He may lose the ability to control his actions, or judge the rightness or wrongness of a course of behaviour. This will manifest itself soonest in the way he treats others. Those whom he disagrees with will be met with scorn, bitterness, and even foul language. He may utter threats of violence of a real or electronic nature. Even when confronted, your son will probably find it difficult to talk about this problem to you. He will probably claim that there is no problem, and that you are imagining things. He may tell you that it is you who has the problem, and you should "back off" and "stop smothering him." Do not allow yourself to be deceived. You are the only chance your son has, even if he doesn't understand the situation he is in. Keep trying to get through to him, no matter how much he retreats into himself. 8. Is your son obsessed with "Lunix"? BSD, Lunix, Debian and Mandrake are all versions of an illegal hacker operation system, invented by a Soviet computer hacker named Linyos Torovoltos, before the Russians lost the Cold War. It is based on a program called "xenix", which was written by Microsoft for the US government. These programs are used by hackers to break into other people's computer systems to steal credit card numbers. They may also be used to break into people's stereos to steal their music, using the "mp3" program. Torovoltos is a notorious hacker, responsible for writing many hacker programs, such as "telnet", which is used by hackers to connect to machines on the internet without using a telephone. Your son may try to install "lunix" on your hard drive. If he is careful, you may not notice its presence, however, lunix is a capricious beast, and if handled incorrectly, your son may damage your computer, and even break it completely by deleting Windows, at which point you will have to have your computer repaired by a professional. If you see the word "LILO" during your windows startup (just after you turn the machine on), your son has installed lunix. In order to get rid of it, you will have to send your computer back to the manufacturer, and have them fit a new hard drive. Lunix is extremely dangerous software, and cannot be removed without destroying part of your hard disk surface. 9. Has your son radically changed his appearance? If your son has undergone a sudden change in his style of dress, you may have a hacker on your hands. Hackers tend to dress in bright, day-glo colors. They may wear baggy pants, bright colored shirts and spiky hair dyed in bright colors to match their clothes. They may take to carrying "glow-sticks" and some wear pacifiers around their necks. (I have no idea why they do this) There are many such hackers in schools today, and your son may have started to associate with them. If you notice that your son's group of friends includes people dressed like this, it is time to think about a severe curfew, to protect him from dangerous influences. 10. Is your son struggling academically? If your son is failing courses in school, or performing poorly on sports teams, he may be involved in a hacking group, such as the infamous "Otaku" hacker association. Excessive time spent on the computer, communicating with his fellow hackers may cause temporary damage to the eyes and brain, from the electromagnetic radiation. This will cause his marks to slip dramatically, particularly in difficult subjects such as Math, and Chemistry. In extreme cases, over-exposure to computer radiation can cause schizophrenia, meningitis and other psychological diseases. Also, the reduction in exercise may cause him to lose muscle mass, and even to start gaining weight. For the sake of your child's mental and physical health, you must put a stop to his hacking, and limit his computer time drastically. I encourage all parents to read through this guide carefully. Your child's future may depend upon it. Hacking is an illegal and dangerous activity, that may land your child in prison, and tear your family apart. It cannot be taken too seriously.
Need an idea for a poltical cartoon about a modern labor/industry problem.? I have to draw a political cartoon for a modern labor/industry problem today. Some examples would be illegal immigration, child labor, outsourcing, multinational corporations, low wages, safety, environmental issures, etc. I can't think of anything good, that I haven't found anywhere online. Does anyone have an idea for something I could draw?
What to do when your ex-husband and his new fiancee are driving you crazy? My ex-hubby and I have two children, 8 and 6. We have always gotten along well since the divorce and co-parent very well together. Recently however he began dating a new woman who has two children from a previous marriage. The children do not live with her; they choose at an early age to live with their dad. My ex has always had internet service until recently when he told me he had it cancelled. The problem comes because the new woman's teenager has had my children's pictures plastered all over her myspace page. Initially when they were put up on myspace I didn't say a thing about it cause my ex had internet service. But when he cancelled the service two weeks ago I asked to have access to her page to monitor the content as I do not know this girl or her mom. Everyone blew up at me. I felt like my children's safety was at issue. The new woman assured me that every time her daughter was online it was at her house, but I proved to them that the girl was online at other times. So my question is. if you were a mom of two young children and their pictures were on two different myspace pages that neither you nor your ex had access to would you be upset and demand that they be removed? He has been dating this girl since September. Thanks. wanted to add, that I addressed the issue with both my ex and the woman who both did nothing. I contacted myspace today and the content was removed. I think if you don't protect your kids, who will? My ex had no idea that the girl even had a myspace until I pointed it out.
How do you get your spouse in for mental help if she does not believe she is ill? My wife is bent on destroying our family and refuses to get any treatment or read any books. I am willing to get the same tests/help or what ever just to get her in. Who knows, I may be the crazy one. I have read Dr Laura's books, Dr. Phil's books (I even got asked to be on the show. Because she would not go, he would not help. Boo for him.) I have even contacted Robi Ludwig (she is expensive) I have even ordered a few books online to no avail. She believes she is saving "her children" as she calls them from abuse. Don't ask, I don't get it. My three boys 6,9 &10 have a very good life with the exception of the mounting tension. I don't know who to ask for help. We have been to 3 psychologist and they just seem to make matters worse. I fear for my boys safety at this point because only a crazy woman would be so destructive to her marriage and family. Any suggestion? How and who do I see for treatment if she refuses?
If a CRT implodes, what are the proper precautions/cleanup procedures? I have looked online for this answer, but can only find 'preventative measures' of which I am well aware. I appreciate the information, but I need to know what to do IF a CRT should explode and there does not seem to be any easily found information concerning this. There will be shattered glass, of this I am aware. Will there be toxic chemicals that can be breathed in or picked up by touching? Do I need to vacate the area to ensure that no one will breathe in something they shouldn't? I work in a school district and need to keep the children's safety in mind. I am to institute a procedure if a CRT were to implode. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Could you pray for the safe return or finding of a 12 year old girl from my home town? She was coerced into meeting up with a man from online. She lived with his family for a week. He claims he let her go in Dallas after learning she was only 12 and not 18. She is a foster child, 4ft 9 in, 130 lbs. I worry for her safety. I did not know her personally but being a mother I care deeply about her. Peace Be With You. I am sure things occurred. He is currently in jail. They are searching for her. http://www.theparisnews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=b615b7b3478cb6f1
Birth control for women over 40. Need very reliable but safe! Is there such a thing? I'm 44 and trying to figure out the best form of birth control. I'm concerned about using any with hormones at my age. I'm a non-smoker, pretty healthy, normal weight, have had 1 child and am in a monogamous relationship. I definitely don't want to risk pregnancy. My son is grown, in college and I don't plan to have more children. I'd like to get any info from women who've used the low estrogen pills, and any and all info on use of other forms of bc! Any bad experiences, side effects, failures? I've read so many statistics that go back and forth on the safety of taking the pill/hormones, especially for women over 35-40. A cancer can take so long to manifest itself, how can you really know? I am using the Today sponge. I thought it was a pretty effective method, so it says on the box. In reading online medical sources, it has a 15-40 % failure rate out of 100! I know a tubaligation is an option, but the thought of making it so final is a mental thing..no more babies.
? for Law enforcement...Background checks? Are people notified that you completed a BG search on him/her? Just ordered a report from Intelius (for possible dating purposes)...it was a good report, nothing bad stood out from it. In fact, the details of the report matched everything he had told me. But can ANYONE find out if you ordered a report on them? The reason I ordered was b/c safety measures of online "dating". I guess I got NERVOUS & ordered the report b/c of what happened to a co-worker,"Sue". She was a member of eHarmony.com who met a "nice" guy, "Bill". The relationship grew & Bill eventually moved in w/her 6 mos later. A week later, he asked Sue to marry him the next month. Family members & friends became concerned & ordered an extensive background check on Bill. As it turns out, Bill was a married man w/60+ children. Sue was about to become his 10th wife! Bill was noted as a pontential suspect with the law & police were looking for him. Bill was notified by a friend who then contacted Bill after she was contacted by Sue's family by contact details of the report. As the details unfolded, Bill became very angry & Sue willingly went w/him (he had a gun). He came up to our workplace!! She was not heard or seen @ 48 hours from anyone. Talk about a very scary moment for us. When they surfaced, he claimed to be "born-again" Christian. After a month went by, the relationship ended. Like I mentioned from above, I got nervous b/c I am pratically dating someone "online". I guess it is better to be safe than sorry....
Im ttying to buy a car? Ok, I live in Texas and I am trying to buy a used car. I am in search of something around the $6000 mark that can be financed. I really dont want to pay more then that because I want my payments to be reasonable. My husband and I have zero credit and only about $1000 to put down. We make about $2600 a month and would like to purchase a foreign car like a honda or toyota just for reliability. I do have a child so safety is a must. My question is how do i get the ball rolling? We have gone to a ton of dealerships and none want to finance that low of a number with a person with no credit. what would you suggest? I always see these ads online for car loans for people with zero credit approved but are those safe and reliable? I feel so lost in this process. We found a dealership that said they would finance us but I really honestly believe all the cars were stolen or in katrina. Also we have a 89 honda accord that we would like to trade in. I have heard that TX has a new incentive to get cars that old off the road. Something about when you trade in they will give you anywhere from $1000- 3500 for the trade in. Does anyone know how i go about doing that?

A question for single mothers with children/child age 16-18? My question is how and what should I say to my mom to tell her I'm moving out. But please read details before you answer. I am 17 years old, I have a boyfriend whom my mother is not too fond of, she dosn't hate him, but she thinks he may be abusive (he's not) and that he is unreliable and immatture (he can be.) I am moving in with him a.s.a.p. My mom lives about 30min away from my boyfriend. I already stay with him often, usually for a week or 2 sometimes longer. (I take online high school and college level courses if your wondering how this is possible.) She is the one who drives me back and forth. I have just gotten hired for a job right down the street from my boyfriends apt. so I can walk to and from work. The reason why I am moving is mainly because I have reasons to fear for my moms, mine, and my pets safety at the house she lives in. This is because her boyfriend murdered 2 of our pets and has been physically abusive to her multiple times and once to me. He is also emotionally abusive to my mom. I know my mom will be worried about me, but I really can't be in the situation she is in. (She refuses to move till she gets money she is owed from him.) She has reasons to think that I may not be responsible enough to take care of myself but those eperiances only helped me grow and learn more into a more reliable, and responsible individual, and they stressed to me (along with other factors) the importance of education. (I am taking the right steps toward my education.) I know it will hurt her when I move, she really dosn't have anyone else, except her boyfriend who treats her like ****. I want to make it as painless as possible for us, because I will miss her too, but I do still want to see her, and talk to her. The problem is my boyfriend or myself do not own a phone, should I ask her to buy one for me? And make payments in full or partial after the first months bill? When should I tell her I am moving because earlier, ... ...I asked her for some towels and miscellanious items for the apt., and she said yes but she said we really need to sit down and talk about this. I told her that I wasn't completely moving away I would just be at my boyfriends during work days. However now that I look at it I will be living primarily with him. How do I say and what to say to her? Should I sit down and talk, write her a letter or do both? Can you put yourself in her position and tell me what the best things your child could say to you would be to relieve some stress and grief? I want to be honest but I fear hurting her, I know she will be worried, Please Help me if you can! Thank You! I appreciate it!
Hi, I run an at home child care and today one of the little girls arrived with a bruise across her right cheek she says she thinks it happened at home when she might have bumped into a wall, it is greenish in color so that means that she has probably had it for a few days but she only comes twice a week. I didn't notice it until her mom left but I want to have it documented just for my own safety. Does anyone know a form that I can use to keep this legal? I was looking online and couldn't find one. Thanks for any help. I am not necessarily scared that I am going to be blamed but I do want to have it documented for myself only just in case more should show up and then I will have it all written down- I am not calling CPS that would be ridiculous, I just wanted to know if there is a specific form to fill out for this-just to keep it in my own file- just in case...

Answers is a place to gain knowledge, not customers, page views, or dates. If you have years of experience in something, have a special hobby, own your own business, or if you are a knowledge partner, it's OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website, blog, or email to offer more information. However, it is not OK to post links that are unrelated to the topic or are clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and financial gain. Also prohibited are solicitations like "Will you add me as a contact?" or propositioning people. Read more > Cheating. Background checks? Are people notified that you (or someone) completed a background search on him/her?
