Is Platinum Protection, (home security), a legitimate company? If so, why do they use “hard” sale tactics?
When I got home from work tonight, my family was being given a high pressure sales pitch from a Platinum Protection guy. The salesman was in his early 20's and said he was from Idaho and was just visiting our area to sale this wonderful home security system. If we display THEIR sign in our front yard for 3 years then EVERYTHING would be free, well except for the fee of ONLY $1.42 per day. He claimed that "Our Company doesn't even want to charge for the service, but the State makes us." I listened for a few minutes, and was disgusted with his sales spiel. I told him that we weren’t interested and that he needed to leave my home. He ignored me and kept talking to my wife. I again told him to leave my home. He then brought out his purchase order and said if my wife would just sign we could have the system installed tonight. I told the jerk, you can leave some information with us, but we will need to consider this for a few days. He was appalled, --cont. and insisted we had to sign tonight. I told him No. Now get out of my house. He again turned to my wife, asking her to sign. At this point, I said to him, Do I call the Police or pull out my shotgun to get you to leave? He left. I'm still fuming over his refusal to leave my home when told to. So, does anyone know if Platinum Protection is a legitimate company? After my experience, I won't deal with them. That high pressure makes me think they are not legimate. Anyone know about this company or dealt with them? 10 Points to the one who can give me information on this particular company!!

- You should always check out a company before committing to anything. And don't put up with anyone's pushy tactics! If they want your business badly enough they can wait a few hours for your answer while you "think about it." The Better Business Bureau is a good place to check out a company's record or history. If a company has a bad rep, most of the time it will be listed there. I have also used online search engines to look for negative comments a company may have received. Keep in mind, a good company with a good product will sell itself. No pushy tactics are needed. Good luck!
- if they are that pusy and obnoxious with sales, imagine how the customer service would be. If they are givin you headaches right off the bat, don't give yourself a migraine... simply dont bother with them. If I were u I think I would be pissed on the refusal to leave, and how he repeatedly tried to go around you. Get out the phone book and go with a local company.
- I Can feel your frustration, I never dealt with this company, Sounds like the man was jerk, And if I can give you my opinion, I don't believe in any of thous security company's, I promise you if some body come in to your house you(adrlinine), well take care of that!, I would have Bitch slapped Him>
- Definitely do NOT go with this company. Their sales people travel the country using high-pressure sales. Usually, something like ‘they’ll waive the cost of the $700 system if they can ‘advertise’ with a sign in the yard’. They’ll probably also mention the monitoring is Monitronics and how Oprah endorses this company. We had a problem with the salesman as well. When I called Platinum, they refused to give me the phone number and address of the local office. I later learned they DON'T have local offices...the local 'office' is the sales rep. There are too many questionables when dealing with this company and I don't think you'd be comfortable committing to a three-year contract. I regret doing it.
