what precautions can be taken to ensure personal safety during the lightning and thunderstorm severe weather?

  1. Go inside. Don't touch any plumbing or metal objects, and don't go near windows. Do not use the telephone. If caught outside, crouch down and move to the lowest point possible.
  2. Be sure to refrain from holding or using pointed metal objects like needles and pin during thunderstormy weather. Also, be prepared to have pen light and transitor radio so that when the power run out, you have these gadgets very useful, especially at night time. Take care and GOD BLESS!!!!!!
  3. if you're inside you should defiantly stay as far away from windows as possible and metal objects. don't be in contact with water at anytime. if you are outside get in your car if accessible and if it isn't stay away from trees and metal object and don't be in an area with nothing around you. that's just saying please strike me lol. stay as low to the ground as possible. have bottled water, a first aid kit, and a flashlight available in case you lose power. ps: if you have a basement thats your best bet
