Which do you think is the bigger threat to personal safety?

Which do you think is the bigger threat to personal safety of the "average American" (however you define that)- Al Queda type groups or criminal gangs coming from South of the border? I'm just curious to see what people on here think. Hey Peace you stupid puta!!! I'm NOT a WASP!!! I'm a freaking Catholic 2nd Gen Mexican American living what alot of white people call "the barrio". Don't believe me...look up my previous posts Q/As. I'm just curious to see what people think. I myself don't feel unsafe anymore or less. It's white people like you make me want to stay in my racists' ways. It annoys me very much that you think a Mexican can't ever be online and on these boards. At least that's what I'm thinking when you say I'm white...LOL!!

  1. From my traumatic personal experience, I think the bigger threat is from South of the border. A few years ago, I was bound and gagged during a takeover robbery of a jewelry and antique shop that I used to work at. The police eventually caught the robbers who turned out to be a couple of Mexicans here illegally in the first place. BTW, I’m half Hispanic so please don’t consider this as a racist rant!
  2. The Republican Party.
  3. Were I live, the gangs.
  4. I think crime in general is the bigger threat to personal safety.
  5. Criminal gangs from South of the Border? Good Lord. Neither of these are an imminent threat to the average American. Listen, just because you may be (I'm guessing) a white, anglo-saxon possibly protestant, does NOT mean that everyone who isn't is a savage hoard coming to destroy your way of life.
  6. Well, I'll go with criminal gangs coming up from Mexico. But, if tomorrow we have another 9/11, can I change my response?
  7. Around here, i would say the street criminals are the most immediate threat.Terrorism would be if Bush was not taking care of business.
  8. Drunken drivers kill many more people than terrorists in the US ever did. Busy traffic is the greatest danger to anyone's personal security.
  9. I'd say "average Americans" this idiot in front of me today was going 5 under the speed limit...I almost had to smash into the back of her car...
  10. the most immediate is the latino influx and all the crime it has brought...9it has also pplayed havoc with the education system by dumping unprepared children into our public school..central fl., anyway. Of course al qaeda presents a different level of threat that represents the ability to make spectacular attacks on the US...so they are kind of apples and oragnges.
  11. Al Qaeda. because criminal gangs from Latin America don't normally target innocent avg. Americans. They target other gangs or the police mostly. Now that doens't mean innocent US citizens don't get caught in the cross fire sometimes but unless your hanging out in a ghetto in the US you are not going to hurt by a Latin Amer. gang member.
  12. Facts: 1) Illegal aliens kill thousands of Americans yearly. Figures are unreported by our liberal media. CONGRESS: ILLEGALS KILL 9,000 AMERICANS A YEAR. Iowa’s United States Congressman Steve King told a crowd in Des Moines in June, “Illegal aliens cause the death of 25 American citizens every day…13 by drunken driving and 12 by stabbings or gun fire.” http://www.sierratimes.com/06/08/14/Frosty_.htm 2) 27% OF ALL PRISONERS ARE FOREIGNERS. "Approximately 27.5 percent of all federal prisoners are criminal aliens (illegal aliens and legal aliens who are convicted of committing a crime). (Read more: Information on Criminal Aliens Incarcerated in Federal and State Prisons and Local Jails GAO(Government Accounting Office))" http://www.house.gov/forbes/immigrationprimer.htm
  13. Where I live it's the street people, crack heads, pimps and erm Ladies? of the night, but having to choose from the two listed I'd go with gangs.
  14. Depends on where you live. If you live along the Mexican border, gangs are a bigger threat. The point is, however, that the gangs don't threaten our way of life. Islamofascist terrorists do.
  15. Both, but there are more Latin scum bags than Sand flea scum bags coming over that border.
  16. I live in minnesota, small town. Ther are few Arabs here but thousands of illegal aliens...sure a single middle east terrorists could slip in...but it would be irrational to fear a Al Queda terrorists here
  17. Border problems - not only are illegals committing tons of crimes (drug trafficking, robberies, kidnappings, etc), they are bringing all sorts of diseases with them (like Hepatitis). Also, al-Qaeda can infiltrate our country coming in through our borders. That really worries me.
  18. Personally? Eventhough I am white, I am bi-lingual (English-Spanish) and read and write in Spanish. I get along wonderfully with my Hispanics brethren. Al Quaeda (how ever it is spelled) doesn't bother me either. I've been robbed in the NYC Subway, and there is nothing quite as exhilerating or terrifying as that. (Granted I was stupid, and gambled the guy was bluffing, because I was afraid of being shot for just having two dollars, before I knocked the gun from his hand and he ran off...) But, seriously, I am not afraid to meet my maker telling some buttheaded zealot to piss off. I'm not afraid of them. I'm afraid of not living the rest of my life, but, I cannot give into it and let people roll over me.
  19. You sound like you feel discriminated against, Welcome to America and take your place in line for complaints. So let's toss political correctness aside for a bit, OK. Second generation of legal parents or illegal? I'm a third generation citizen born here. My grandparents came through Ellis Island on their way to becoming Americans, not anything else Americans, Americans. My parents both of European descent and born here, were Americans, not this type of American or that...American, period. I'm American. In the big scheme of things legal Mexican immigrants will also be absorbed into the American melting pot eventually. For now, you guys are just the next, Irish, Italians, Jews, Blacks in a long line of discrimination. Again I say, welcome to America and it's strange ways. Our southern border is our biggest problem, by far.
