Where can you get a civilian taser for personal safety?

I want to get one for my girlfriend.

1. At a gun show or a gun shop.
2. there are many personal security shops, sporting goods stores and you can even order them online. You dont have to go to a gun store unless you want to.
3. Your first concern should be ... will it be legal for my girlfriend to carry a stun gun or tazer, and if so what training and permits will she need? In New York State, there is no legal outlet where a civilian can buy a tazer or stun gun, it is not legal for civilians to own one! Check the laws in your area first, if legal, then try a gun shop, police equipment store, outdoor store, etc. You would not want your girlfriend arrested for possession of an illegal weapon, would you?
