I asked for a shift change for fear of personal safety. I was fired the next day. What can I do?

He did not pay my last week of employment up on termination. I was told to pick up paycheck following week during pay day. The reason was because by asking for the shift change I was voluntarily quitting.

1. call the labor board in your state. it's wrongfull termination, they will take care of it
2. go to ur local better business bureua and report them. or the local labor board. as long as you had a good reason to have shift changed they will have to keep you there. they cant fire people for no reason
3. Did it say that in your contract if you asked for a shift change you were quitting? If not, talk to your union/labour board etc. and a solicitor, because this is an obvious case of unfair dismissal.
4. just move on....out of bad situations can come good ones maybe this is an oppurtunity for u to go ahead and get a better job
