What are the qualifications of a security officer or security guard?

I want to work as a full time security officer. What do I have to be able to do? What are the qualifications?

Most security companies will have some basic requirements: -Speak, read and write in English. -High School Diploma or GED. -18 years old or older. -No felony or serious misdemeanor convictions. -Neat Professional Appearance. -Reliable Transportation. -Phone -Able to stand for up to 8 hours, or walk a patrol area. -In California, a California Guard Card.
