What's the point of some security cameras, if you can't always see the image of the person who is stealing etc?

I just wondered, because sometimes they can't clarify stuff like that very well. I guess you can see what they're wearing. It's like if you really want to catch the criminal, you would at least pay more money for better cameras. Just a thought. What do you think?

1. You see the person and Id them, then the camra proves they did it.
2. Half the time ppl who have them forget about them until some one gets their head cutt off and then they wish they had maintained them properly...
3. i think its more to do with old technology - many places implemented security cameras a few years ago and the poor quality was the best available at the time - things have moved on a long way since then, but many still use the old technology instead of upgrading to newer equipment that offer much better image quality

5. well in some cases there are people looking at it in real time. that only happens if the guard isnt watching TV or half alseep or reading a book (i saw some1 do it at our town house). it can also be used at court evidence if u catched the crimminal which is unliekly. by the way this section is about computers and internet
