Can "Security" Cameras send live filmings over long distances?

My spouse and I are going to separated for the next few months. Would there be a way that I could set up a security camera in my room and she be able to watch the live filming's 600 miles away? Would there be any special equipment that I would need to buy? And we would prefer the filming to be live and constantly going. It doesn't have to be recored onto a tape or anything either.

1. Well, you could use a camera but you would have to hook it up to the internet so you could transfer the live feed to your spouse. Other wise I couldn't think of another way you could do it.
