What is a good home security monitoring system?

We are looking for a home security system and don't know whats the best. My first guess was ADT but after reading internet reviews on it,Im not too sure. I just want a good affordable service that will work when it needs to.

2. This totally depends on how much you want to spend up front and how much you wanna spend monthly. You can get a very basic system for 100 bucks or you can install a huge system for much more and pay much more...but they way i look at it is that your protecting your family and your home. The only thing we really have....so go big or go home. Just my opinion.
